Why not try both and decide for yourself?
I tried both and I can say I really liked the CK100Pro and didn't like the CK90ProMKII. Just the price locally is a little scary. But if gotten from Japan it should be a lot better. :) Not sure where to get from though... The bigger departmental stores or Akihabara should have...

Ooh.. ok thanks!!!
Still a mental barrier to go beyond 200SGD..
on amazon.co.jp ck90mkII is <200, while CK100Pro is >350SGD..

let me stew on it...:s13:

Anyone know where I can get a replacement headband + earpad for esw9?

Mailed them about this before. VERY expensive, probably because of lambskin leather. Here's the reply. Hope it helps.

Thank you for your email!

I’m glad to inform you that we do have replacement ear pads and head bands available. It costs SGD 60 (per pair) and SGD 100 (per piece) respectively. If you’re interested, kindly pay us a visit from Monday to Friday 930am to 530pm on the address provided below.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

This was send in Feb so prices might have changed. In any case, I hope this is of some assistance to you! :)

Omg. That is very expensive *sobs* :s22:
My headband's wearing too *sobs* :(

The ES10/ESW11 headbands should be cheaper I think (since it's not lambskin), but not sure if it will fit the ESW9.

If I remember correctly, the ES10 earpads are $60 too. The ESW11LTD lambskin ones are $78. So I'm not sure if it'll be much cheaper. :s22:

Hi,
recently (a few days ago) I also made some enquiries to Audio Technica regarding the replacement of the headband... the leather seems to peel off...
I feel that the lamb skin might not be durable.. I last used it about 6 months ago and its still very good then. I then kept it..after I tried to use them afew days ago, found that the skin has turn bad with winkles and a part of it like peeling off..maybe due to sweat?
Any tips to preserve it better? maybe change it to pvc then it won't turn bad so easily?

Hi Mr. Wong,

Thank you for having purchased the ESW9!

Replacing the headband would cost SGD 103 and the cable would cost SGD 43.
Unfortunately, we don’t do modifications. Please pay us a visit on the address
and office hours provided below.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

Ok thanks, might just get the headband as the condition is pretty bad :(

Just placed an order for that 3rd-party headband.
Thanks for the link bro.

The headband on my 5-year old ESW9 started to flake already, so I know it is not a real leather, unlike the ear pads.

no problem man. these pads are a PITA to upkeep seriously. The money deserves to go to better buys. :s13:

:s13: so true. Really envy the Japanese. The prices for the AT stuff there is like :s22:
Prices in Japan for replacement parts don't seem much cheaper though:

Prices include Japan's consumer taxes:

ESW9:

Earpad: ¥4,200 (¥3,150 if you change yourself)
Cord: ¥4,725
Unit: ¥5,250~¥7,350
Damaged set: ~¥20,800
Pouch: ¥1,050

ES10:
Earpad: ¥3,150 (¥2,100 if you change yourself)
Cord: ¥4,500
Damaged set: ~¥28,000
Pouch: ¥1,050
Cleaning Cloth: ¥210

Just placed an order for that 3rd-party headband.

I think the ESW9's headband is real lambskin leather. The ES10 headband's only $68.

Depends if it's the cable or driver. :D

You can try contacting AT. I think the do offer discounts for a replacement set.

The top part maybe real leather, but the bottom part (the one touching your hair, black colour) is definitely not, as mine already starts to flake and can see the cloth lining.
Mine is 2008 model, so dunno if the newer model is all real leather

Just got my first ATH, a W3000ANV. Man, I didn't expect headphones could sound ssssooooo musical! The best sounding headphones I've had so far, and I've had quite a few. I think I'm done hunting for full sized headphones.

And this thing looks really pretty. I'd definitely post some photos later on.

Another good thing I love about these headphones is that although they are closed-back headphones, they don't sound close-in at all. And on the other hand, they isolate outside noise quite well.

Now who wants my T5p :s13:

Congrats on the new hoot but once you are into AT woodies, you will tend to get more, especially the older ones :s13:

Thanks. Me not collector, won't keep so many headphones :). But these are really nice looking headphones. I guess I don't mind having another one or two pairs if good deals come by.

Last night, well, this morning I guess, I listened to these until 2:30am, that's 4 and half hours straight. Can't remember the last time I had headphones for so long. The sound, especially female's vocal sounds so sweet w these. Acoustics sound great. The only thing lagging is the soundstage in width, but that's actually more realistic IMO.

And I haven't used full setup for these yet, only used AK120, they already sound so sweet.

may I ask where and how much u bought it for ?is the W3000 potable?

Yeah, it's less than 500g, of course you can carry it anywhere you want :D But its size isn't small, you'd look funny w/ that on when you walk on the streets or take bus/train :D

I got it second hand. I think it's selling for around $1600 at Stereo.
