may I ask where and how much u bought it for ?is the W3000 potable?

The right term would be "transportable".
While no one will stop you from wearing it outside or on the street, their main purpose is for home used.:D

Around how much? i think is cable, i can see the cable wearing out

If it's the cable, here's some options I can think of:

1) Get a replacement cable from AT. Should cost around $40 I think.

2) Get an aftermarket cable. Maybe expensive depending on which you get. You'd also need to get someone to solder it on since the CKS77 doesn't have removable cables. Would also change the sound just a tiny bit.

3) Get someone to repair. May not be possible in some cases like if the cable broke in the middle. Possible if re-terminating the plug, etc...

Thanks for the heads up! Now have a cosy peaceful place to try them :)

The top part maybe real leather, but the bottom part (the one touching your hair, black colour) is definitely not, as mine already starts to flake and can see the cloth lining.
Mine is 2008 model, so dunno if the newer model is all real leather

Just looked at the picture. Really seems like only the top part is real leather.
Leather for looks, Pleather for comfort? :s22: What's AT thinking? :)

Just got my first ATH, a W3000ANV. Man, I didn't expect headphones could sound ssssooooo musical! The best sounding headphones I've had so far, and I've had quite a few. I think I'm done hunting for full sized headphones.

And this thing looks really pretty. I'd definitely post some photos later on.

Another good thing I love about these headphones is that although they are closed-back headphones, they don't sound close-in at all. And on the other hand, they isolate outside noise quite well.

Now who wants my T5p :s13:

Congrats on your new purchase :D
Did you try other AT TOTL headphones like the A2000X or AD2000X? :)

Thanks. I only tried one pair a few weeks back at ConnectIT @ JEM, but can't remember the model name, but definitely not 2000 series. The impression back then was that other than mids, that headphones couldn't do anything well. This 3000anv is totally different.

I see... If i'm not wrong the only high end AT headphone ConnectIT brought in was W1000X. I think you may have tried the AD900X or ESW9.

I remember comparing the W3000ANV with the A2000X and AD2000X. If I remember correctly I felt that the W3000ANV was more all-rounded, quite coloured but with a sweet sound. The A2000X was the mother of clarity. The AD2000X was the mother of female vocals :s13:

:s13: Now come to think of it they really got a lot of series and headphones... :s22:

For their TOTL series there's a few you can look at:
Wooden (Full Size Closed): W1000X W3000ANV W5000
Art Monitor (Full Size Closed): A500X A700X A900X A1000X A2000X
Air Dynamic (Full Size Open): AD500X AD700X AD900X AD1000X AD2000X
Earsuit (Portable Closed): ES33 ES500 ES700 ESW9 ESW10JPN ES10 ESW11LTD
CKM? (In ear): CKM300, CKM500, CKM77, CKM99, CKM1000, CKW1000ANV
CK? (In ear): CK70PRO, CK90PROMK2, CK100PRO

I hope you see the pattern in the naming ;) There's still quite a number of series I left out like the noise cancelling series, solid bass, more budget-orientated, etc...

AT always refreshes their line up after a few years. Like previously it was
AD10 > AD1000 > AD1000X

W3000ANV is exclusive to Stereo and AT SEA not bringing in W5000, so the W1000X is the only existing wooden headphone that is available to other retailers.

The sound signature of W3000ANV is moving towards to a more well-rounded one from its predecessors. To have an idea of what the older W-series sound like, you will need to try out the W5000 or W1000. Older ones like W11JPN and W2002 are very expensive and difficult to find. Don't think you will still consider the AD2000X mother of female vocals once you listen to these.

Hi elephantfish,
Btw, comparing w2000x with A1000x, which one u prefer as i see very few reviews about A2000x.

:s13: U can just call me LBBEF ;)
I use that username whenever forums like Head-Fi don't allow usernames 26 characters long. ;)

U mean the W1000X vs the A2000X? Personally I prefer the A2000X. :D

I remember trying the A2000X quite a while ago. It had exceptional clarity and detail. The soundstage was very big, which was surprising for a closed can. The comfort was good too, even though it was made with synthetic leather (Some Clarino leather). It was a pretty neutral can but the dynamics were awesome. The only thing was that it was pretty bass light for my liking. Didn't had an amp at that time so that could be the case. (Or maybe my ES10 is a bit bass heavy :s13: ) I remember reading somewhere that you need to get a good seal on the A2000X for the bass to come out. Some changed to the W1000X pads or something for a better seal.

I suspect that the A2000X maybe a little picky with amps like the AD2000X, not too sure, have to check to find out. Heard it goes very well with the HA5000.

I tried the W1000X pretty long ago but tried it again today. I remember it was slightly warmer, slightly airy and more musical. Midrange was very nice but the everything else wasn't too my liking.

In terms of looks, coming from the titanium ES10, I definitely prefer the titanium A2000X. I've never been a fan of woodies, although I really like the slight sweet sound that they give. But the only wooden headphone that really caught my eye was this modded ES10 with custom wood housing by Martin Custom Audio: Martin Custom Audio: Audio Technica ATH-ES10

For some impressions you may want to have a look at this Chinese thread:
They compared all of AT's TOTL titanium gear. The A2000X, ES10, CK100PRO and CKM1000. I've tried the first three and am really impressed with them. Really want to try the CKM1000 and CKW1000ANV but I don't think anyone in Singapore carries them. ÐÂÊÀ´úîѺϽð---A2000X/ES10/CK100PRO/CKM1000µÄÂÒ¶· - ÌúÈý½Ç Audio-Technica - iMP3ËæÉíÓ°Òô

I've also noticed that there isn't much reviews on the A2000X and co. Maybe as the price goes up fewer people have them? :s13: Not to mention AT has some pretty high prices outside of Japan.

My next target after completing my ES10 setup (Just missing a DAC now, the ES10 really sounds very nice with the Continental) would probably be the A2000X. Just hope my wallet can tahan. :s13:

I think E1 should be bringing in the A2000X's demo today as part of their Audio Appreciation Week. I went there yesterday and there was the W1000X, AD2000, AD1000X, AD900X, AD700X, M50RD, ESW9A, ES7, ES55.
According to the poster there should be the A2000X but I think there was some logistics issue or something today. Would definitely be heading down to have a listen if the A2000X is brought in :)
