Suspect app not ready for the newer iPhones. Likely they are doing some device specific checks and since HW is finally out then they can start working on it.

Encountered same issue with both as well. For standard chartered, I can login but not with face id

My citi app keep crashing on my Xs but it was working perfectly fine on my 6 Plus... both phones on ios12

It is more likely that iOS 12 is causing these issues. I noticed that app developers are taking longer to update their app with this new iOS release. In the past, whenever there is a new iOS update, I will get a lot of app update notifications on the next few days. iOS 12 have been released for few days but I've only seen about 5 to 6 app updates to date.

Citibank doesn’t load on xs max but works on my 7+

Both in ios12

Since it only happens on newer iPhone Xs and Xs Max. It is likely the apps are designed to look for the device names or ID type specifically just in case to see if your device is tempered in somewhere. It just slightly standard stuff on apps that has to be very very secure.

Anything out of the ordinary from a normal device is flagged.

For now, you have to wait for the Banks to update with the newest device names or IDs

I have the same issues with Citibank and UOB too. In addition, Nets Pay app crashed upon launch. Using XS Max.
