Thats precisely why i say they shouldn't have doomsday or lex luthor in this movie at all, and go make a standalone superman v doomsday/lex luthor instead. Write doomsday and lex luthor out from this movie, remove the ** knightmare scene, remove the useless johnathon kent scene, then you got more than sufficient space for them to explore that aspect liao.

I cant say the opening scene is enough. they didnt talk about these to each other at all from the superman/batman perspective. Arguing about their different ideologies can also be seen as a "fight" figuratively speaking. can also show audience how both of them feel and respond when face with such ideology etc. can show more of their inner thoughts, emotions etc. superman told batman not to go to the bat signal, yet batman never question why. I think the writers of the movie know if say superman wanna fight batman because of the batman branding, is quite weak, so they use martha kent to give superman a stronger motivation to fight batman

Ppl say DC movie have to think and very deep, say marvel very shallow and just fight. But i think batman v superman like also no different. They make audience think not because it is though provoking, but because it is confusing one.

I dont think the movie required bruce wayne & clark kent to sit down and talk to each other abt their ideologies to let audience understand their perspectives.

The movie itself did a pretty decent job showing batman ideologies and his stand from his parents' death opening scene and his dialog wif Alfred. Superman one dont even need to say, they spent more than 60mins showing his identity as man & god and his conflict among the public. Read deeper into the political thriller they shown, u will understand. But majority of the audiences said they felt asleep coz its boring.

So ur point saying their opening and ideologies not done are reali nitpicking imo. If the movie have to show each inner thoughts of Superman and Batman, I think it will be even more boring for the audiences. Not artistic movie leh.

I think its more of the movie quality fault rather than people's taste. I dont see why you will want to use the BO of this movie to justify things too since its still too early. It has strong day one (when nobody know the movie quality yet), then it suffer the largest day 2 and 3 collapse in the US according to forbes, most probably due to bad words of mouth

http://www.forbes.com/sites/robcain...-worst-friday-sunday-drop-for-superhero-pics/

The movie has yet to break even too.

I will like to embrace the diversity from DC, but that doesnt mean giving free passes to junk movies. Want to be different? Can go ahead, but at least make sure it is good lah. Deadpool is a huge success. Many people also praise nolan's batman movies. Day of Future Past and First class are also generally consider good.

i like how u mentioned deadpool cause BvS essentially has alot of comic reference tie in whereas deadpool had pop culture tie-ins. the problem snyder has is that unlike pop culture which is popular and most ppl know, not everyone knows the comic references. if u know the comics then u can understand the references and the explanation for alot that happened.

Is like if u dont know darkseid, u would think lex luthor is not making sense and is a generic madman and is talking rubbish at the end. there isnt like a after credit scene even to show that something ominous is coming

They projected "The correlations aren’t perfect, but as things stand on Monday morning, Batman v Superman‘s soft Friday-to Sunday hold suggests a final domestic box office gross closer to the $409 million earned by Iron Man 3 than the $623 million earned by Marvel’s The Avengers." That surmise a tentpole failure to you? What is considered success then? This is only the second movie in the DCEU. Wait for the final cume. You don't expect DC to be on par with Marvel overnight. The latter took years to build up the hype surrounding Avengers inherently having a marketing advantage.

Nolan again. I'm not about to recycle nor discuss your juvenile nitpickings. :s13:

IMHO, in terms of JLA, all the main characters should have their own standalone movie first and a sequel of some crossovers before the first JLA movie.

Phase 1: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman origins, etc...
Phase 2: Sequels with strong villains and crossovers, Sup + Bat, Sup + WW, etc..
Phase 3: JLA 1 with one or two strong villains
Phase 4: Intro other lesser members of JLA, Aquaman, Cyborg, etc...

This would make more sense and is how Marvel got their string of movies up and running milking all the money in the world.

the die hard zyner fans dun agree leh. they keep defending this mix mash of rush job movie is good if u understand the refernce.

i am a freaking superman reader since 1994 and i freaking hate it they screwed up the superman movie franchise again and again by bum rushing it ass. MOS was ok and i was really expecting a followup movie on him adapting to earth after coming out as superman. before BVS . but no.. they got to rush it to cash in and mash it all up into a 2.5hr fest.

hey i watched it and gonna buy the bluray director cut to support superman but seriously warner bro got to wake their ******* idea up and for ppl supporting the Director and producer. go f urself, superman is cool. the movie is rush and cramp period.

I didn't know liking a movie is the same as being a fan of the director. We all have our own preferences. Some like marvel, some like DC, while others like both.

If you enjoyed it, then that's good. If you didn't, then that's okay as well. I think what some people are saying in this thread is that dont go in expecting some cheesy one liners like in marvel, because it's not marvel. Batman and Superman aren't known to have much humor in them anyway. You want humor? Wait for Flash and Green Lantern.

Maybe not Ryan Reynolds lantern. That one is epic fail.

the way the movie is portray is how the director and producers does it.

michael bay is all explosion and slow mo. tim burton is all dark and twisted.
this movie just reeks of watchman and 300 mash together to showcase superman and batman in a 2.5 hr fest.

i enjoy seeing batman and superman in action. on that aspect its enjoyable. but the pace and story telling its all director...

fans dun hate transformer fans hate micheal bay.

similar for this i think i like the movie batman with superman in actions. but the way the story is flush out is crap. nothing wrong with batman and superman i say again but how the freaking director did it.

It's not wrong for them to do what they want with the story or franchise lah...
It just feels wrong that Doomsday come out so fast to fight cos Superman fans will know what's going to happen when they both fight.
So many more stories and villains for Superman and yet this...
I was looking forward to him building up his story... :(

And the portrayal of young Lex is... :s22:
Even Smallville Lex is a better persona of this intelligent and cunning villain...

I remember either from comics or cartoon that it's shown that Aquaman is stronger than Superman when he's in the water.... only question is did Superman hold back when he fought Aquaman...

Sent from nothing new using GAGT
I'm not sure audiences will treat a movie called 'aquaman' seriously especially when DC & WB themselves tried to..

Marvel treats Antman like a joke to the point where even Paul Rudd asked whether can he change his name in the Antman movie and the falcon say the name 'antman' with a smirk & ridicule..

imagine in the Aquaman movie where they go all seriously and ask....'Who are you'?

Aquaman: 'I am Aquaman'.

Dude: "eh...ok, what's your civilian name then?'

Aquaman: "curry. Arthur Curry"

Dude: '............'

LMAO..

While James Wan is very well-known for directing several famous horror films, including Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring, he said that his adaptation of DC superhero Aquaman will not necessarily have the same gritty or dark tone as its predecessor, Batman V Superman.

In an interview with IGN at WonderCon, Wan responded to concerns that the DCEU was potentially becoming too dark or heavy in tone, saying that even his “darker horror films” still possess some element of fun in them. Similarly, he said that Aquaman likely won’t go down the same path that Batman V Superman did:

I think Aquaman is a character that is, you know, a lot of people have made fun of over the years, and I just think it’s fun to actually show a really different, cool, badass side to this character, but at the same time, let’s not forget to have fun with it.
Overall, I feel like having a different director at the helm–and a director who sounds like they really know how to treat the source material–is going to be a good thing for this movie. Jason Momoa is certainly taking his role in the matter very seriously, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be some lighter moments.

Wan said that even his latest film, Lights Out, which he was attending WonderCon to present, is more of a fun horror film than anything too dark and depressing. Aquaman won’t be in theaters until July 27, 2018, but the character will be making an appearance in the Justice League movie which will premiere November 17, 2017.

(via IGN)

Not sure if he answered adequately his idea of "fun" is. Guess we'll find out in two years time. :s13:

James Wan said he wants it to be a high seas adventure, almost swashbuckling.

calling it now, people will say Aquaman copy Pirates of the caribbean :s13:

Not saying they should just talk for most of the movie. My point is their different ideologies should be the main focus of the movie, and motivation behind their fight. Look at batman begin, where ra's al ghul and bruce wayne talk about their different ideologies in the monastery and the wayne manor. In both scenes they talk and argue until it elevate into an exciting action scene.

The audience finds this movie boring because it has a weak and confusing uninteresting plot, that goes nowhere, and the excessive boring slow-mo scenes.

Well the point is, it has shown that people are find to embrace this movie even though its not a marvel universe movie :o and the reason people dont like batman v superman not because it is not a marvel movie, but because it sucks.
