i am talking about using discounts to attract more people to buy the term till 85.

of course, the keyboard warriors here in HWZ are the smartest and most informed so will not get enticed just by "cheaper" and will know their actual needs :s22:

Bought term as I believe in BTIR. Vested in property, using term as mortgage policy.

same. My specific question is different term maturity caters to different needs.

term to 60, or to 65, or to 70 ==> maybe for mortgage or for dependants

Term to 85, or even to 99 ==> I suppose is for grandchildren dependants or for projected long-lived spouse.

You must reason out properly, before deciding when to end your term insurance.

no problem at all. if you can afford, just take it. you will lock in a good premium rate at your age.

I have 1mil coverage at mid-20s too paying just $125/mth with some other riders attached. overall, i would say its worth it.

Can you share your plan details, please? $125 for 1 mil coverage with riders seems like a good deal! :D

MyProtector-Level Plus (price is after 10% perpetual discount promotion) you can get better promo now @ 20% perpetually off the total till 31Mar2016.

Premium Age: Mid-20s
Death/TI/TPD 1mil - $93.00
Male Illness 30k - $5.00
Enhanced CI 200k - $27.00

I have Early CI and Enhanced CI on SAF Aviva policy too. So did not load too much of CI on MyProtector Term plan. Hope it helps. :)

Yes they are both Term plans, but a Personal Insurance and a Group Insurance differs greatly.

Few things that i can think of quickly:

- You cannot write a Will on Group Insurance.
- You cannot own the SAF Group Insurance policy. (cos its not yours)
- Group Insurance is subjected group liability. i.e. SAF
- Your SAF coverage, however much you have, will get reduced back to $100k from 65yo onwards.
- Premiums for SAF riders are not fixed. They increases as you age.

It was just $5/mth for me @ 30k coverage. My female RM didn't tell me about this, i spotted it when she did the proposal documentation. The coverage looks good. So I requested for it to be added on. I guess she was too shy to bring this up. :s13:

haha... not sure how she will react, if you ask her "whats the first 3 items on the list?".
