The earcups on my Sennheiser RS 170 can be detached with a twist. No tools needed.

These UGREEN headphones look promising. Shall check them out when my XM5 needs replacing.
The original earpads on my Philips SHP9500 does need the tool to pry it open, lucky the new earpads I bought came with it. Once replaced it is so much more comfortable, because the original earpads are too thin and my ears are touching the inside of the headphone.

I am so thankful for the proliferation of Made-in-China replacement accessories/spare parts. Otherwise, still-usable devices may have to be discarded due to failing parts & out-of-production status at the official service centres.

Nice! Never even see before got such a modular attachment.
I think these kind of attachment have been around for a while. But you need to take note of the type of connection to the IEM, obviously this KZ attachment will work for most of KZ IEM which uses the QDC connector.

Out there probably got 2 other type of connector which is 2pins (either 0.75 or 0.78) and MMCX which is used in IEM from Sennheiser and some chifi brand.

That is why I am not a fan of all the fancy wireless headphones... everything built in... parts are not exactly easily replaceable. If it is cheap then not so bad... if expensive.. very heart pain to throw and buy new.. to repair and find original manufacturer service center probably very expensive also.

Ugreen well known for their adaptors and battery packs. Didn’t know they had audio equipment too.
They have lar.... but they are very new.. and they are just targeting functional.. doubt they are trying to aim for audiophile.. but this new one TS is recommending might be interesting, to be honest, I never seen a hybrid dual driver over the head headphone before... this came with 40mm main driver (they call it woofer) and 12mm tweeter, so in theory it should cover low and high end frequency pretty well but how well and detailed it is still depends on the quality of the drivers they used and the tuning.

Have learnt to take the price and divide it by the number of days of usage/ownership.

Then, compare that with the monthly phone plan price to feel appeased...but those days, I was paying upwards of $25+ per line! 😅

Congrats on your find!

Have been disappointed with the longevity of UGREEN cables. They tend to reach their end-of-life earlier that reasonably expected, given their dearer prices.

Tbh, UGREEN is considered lesser tier than other rising Chinese brands like movespeed, AOHI, in electronics.

For sounds, can try Edifier, soundcore. Cheap and good

i am throwing away my HyperX Cloud Orbit S gaming headsets after receiving these ugreen headphones. it costs me around $650 each when I bought it about 5 years ago. i always disassemble stuff before disposal. will be desoldering the wires and keeping the circuit board. plastic parts all throw

Nice

I personally use hitune max5c best value for money ever investment I ever made for ANC headphone

Incredible microphone
Current issue is after teams call somehow the mic is not used anymore for subsequent teams call, you need to disconnect and connect Bluetooth again

Good sound for YouTube video music for easy listening in office (I don't use equalizer and iam not audiophile)
Good ANC for open space and hot desking office (with ANC on and 60-70% music volume you almost can't hear anything else)

Good battery, I use this headphone with ANC on almost 8-10 hours daily (office and commute) and I only charge once in 2 days

Good weight, pad is soft, clamp pressure is just nice, easy for ear, almost no pressure even when I use it on top of my glass frame temple
But this means (at least for me) the headphone is not suitable for exercise (weight or dumble lift kind of exercise) because headphone is not staying still when you move head a lot

Pad seems like quite durable. So far I use this for 4-5 months continuesly and pad is not showing any sign of cracking even though I use it on glasses

What I hope it will improve is to have multi device connection, for now I need to switch manually when connecting to my work laptop and handphone

I don't have soundcore but ugreen is definitely better than edifier

Cheaper than Edifier
much much cheaper than soundcore (Anker brand?)

HyperX series is based on I think is Takstar Pro 80, I got the Pro 80 but not the inflated HyperX which I think was under Kingston brand. Takstar is the OEM for lots of headphones.
