Exactly. If the advert spend $500 in a month. Not post $500 in a month.

Will try to call them Tomolo for this $40.

Let me explain how a debit card transaction works:

1. When u charge to your debit card, the bank will earmark the amt by reducing the available balance in your account. The bank pay interest based on current balance.
2. Once the merchant claim the amt (ie settled), the bank will post the transaction in your account, then deduct amt from current balance.

It is not considered spent until it is posted and deducted from the current balance.

The bank cannot pay u interest twice.

enjoy while it last, dun procrastinate on something which is not within your control. Most banks started cutting in April/May, no news is good news.

yup, will do.

btw, understand debit spend is counted for bonus interest too, so not necessary to apply for credit card. when we open account, will automatically get a debit/ATM card right?

question - are the exclusions for debit card the same as for credit card? not interested to be forced to spend more for card rebate, just bonus interest.

2nd question - is the debit card issued on the spot during account opening Visa/Master?
