made the mistake of transferring money from the BOC savings account to the BOC credit cards account for payment. This doesn't seemed to fulfill the criteria of bill payments. So I missed out on the bonus interest for bill payment last month :(

need to use the actual 'Bill Payment' function to pay for the BOC credit cards bills. a stupiak move by me, but just to generate awareness.

how do u transfer from smartsaver to boc cc?
AFAIK transfer is only cash acct to cash acct at boc ibanking

Can pay to the list of billing organisation here http://www.bankofchina.com/sg/custserv/cs1/201107/t20110714_1453151.html#6_2
The list may have expanded since also.

Thanks! That was the list I was looking for.

I looked through BOC and OCBC, it seems that I can only pay 1 bill through them which is my mobile phone.

I have 2 other bills to pay - my internet bill via myrepublic or my student loan which is about $600 payable via cash, giro or cc. Would it be better that I take BOC or OCBC as I do not know what would fulfill the credit of bill payment or cc payment.

For example, I can use a non-BOC cc to pay $600 and then use my BOC cc to pay off the non-BOC cc and use my BOC account to pay my BOC cc as a bill thereby fulfilling bill payment and cc usage criteria.

Does it work like that?

To fulfill the requirements you just need to pay $5 per bill. Say u can pay 3 of your cc or even your family members if you don't possess 3 cc

I'm new to this no account and cc (intending to apply yet family card) with boc, I hope someone can enlighten me.

When is the most suitable date to apply for their cc if say I want the statement cycle to be about the same as the monthly cycle?

Say if I apply for the cc together when I open my account, how long will the processing be for cc roughly be?

I read in another thread that sup card holder will get another 2% rebate, does it means that if the sup card holder spend $500 on groceries she will get 5% plus another 2%?

Does the amount that sup card spend count towards main account too? Meaning if I as main card don't spend at all, my sup card holder do all the spending, will I still be able to get the additional interest on my saving account?

Hope someone can advice in this parts. Tia

1) You can use credit card (in the list of billing organisation, eg citibank cc not in the list) to pay bills payable by credit card.
- It counts towards card spend bonus interest.
- It may also count towards the rebate/rewards for the credit card, subjected to their individual TnC.

(Some banks allow payment of billing through internet banking charged to cc, but these likely not eligible for counting towards bonus interest or rebate.)

2. Paying 3 unique credit card (or bills not payable by credit card) per month via giro or internet banking bill payment using funds from boc smartsaver account should meet the requirement for bill payment bonus interest for boc smartsaver. Min amount for credit card payment using internet banking bill payment is $5.

(Separately if u can also do likewise for ocbc 360 account to meet its bill payment bonus interest. Min amount for credit card payment using internet banking bill payment is $1.)

As for boc smartsaver vs ocbc 360 or other savings account. Just need to find out and consider what are the bonus interest components you can get, the ease of getting the interest, other considerations like ease of ibanking etc.

I went to BOC to open Smartsaver acct and applied for Family Card on 5th May. I got my Card on 18th May. But I am not sure 18th of the month is my start of billing?

Hope this helps

All done before the last week of April. Just wondering anyone here has received the bonus interests on separate dates?

I asked the counter, they mentioned it is possible, as long as it's withing the first 15 days of each month. But I don't really trust what they said hahaha!

did u get all the bonus interests?

Yikes, realized no AIA here. I made GIRO arrangement last week. Will this eventually get thru? Even if it does, does it fufill the Bill Payment Bonus?

The list is for bill payment through internet banking not for GIRO and the list may not be the latest also.

If the GIRO gets through it will fulfil 1 of 3 of the bill payments.

I guess it's not really transferring money.

To pay my BOC credit cards bills, I selected 'Credit Card Repayment' function, under the 'Credit Card' tab in internet banking. The staff at BOC told me that this is considered bill payment.
I should have selected the 'Bill Payment' function in internet banking.

$30 flew away~:(

magnesium1 had tested w shop cc

anybody tested family?

Scenario:
A friend used $500 on family card this May.
The latest bill (till 23 May)was $63.50($50 on ezlink $13.50 on food) and a base cashback $0.07 was given.
The remaining $436.5 spent on valid spending.

So will get spend bonus interest for may next month?

Family card rebate give all at one shot (except for the sub card 2% additional rebate)... it's not like shop card which it gives 0.5% or 1% based rebate first then before next statement date then gives the rest..
