Hi guys, i'm a spinner but most of the time, I'm using 10lbs houseball.

Thinking to get a proper ball which suits me.

Any recommendations on any particular brand to go for?

I read on other forums, it's best to go with 11lbs onwards for spinner but if I'm accustomed to using a 10lbs ball, will a 11lbs be ok for me?

Should I buy a BN ball or its ok to buy a 2nd hand ball then get it replugged?

Dont go over 12lb for spinner as it will mess up your wrist really bad if you bowl for long. I suggest 11.3lb ball weight or around there and if you can, try to get a Motiv brand ball. However, its quite hard to find their lower end RX1 or RX1S in the market already. For ball companies, anything below 14lb will not be using the full sized core that they show in bowling videos and their website. Instead, they are smaller and somewhat different in the shape to reduce the RG and differential. However for Motiv, they use full sized cores for 14lb and below balls, so i would recommend you getting one of those balls. If not, you could head down to any proshop and get a package set, it should cost around $165 max.

Well when you buy a 11lb its acutally not much a difference with a 10lb especially that it is drilled to your profile while a houseball isnt.

If you buy a BN one it should cost you ard 17x with shoe ball bag.

as for a used one should be around 50 but you still need to bring to proshop to replug/redrill which cost you another 50+

So i propose you go for a BN one at least you get free guidance and more understanding on the balls.

As for $180 for the RX1, i would suggest you try your own ball and get your basics good, and train first. Get your scores up and then move on to another ball. However, if you want to get a new ball you can try proshops, I'm sure they have light reactive balls with cores in them meant for spinners.

Hmm, yeah, I was thinking of getting my Focus replugged & try it again, it's about 11lbs iirc. My average was only about 160

Lost touch in this sports for donkey years due to some personal matters but decided to pickup this hobby again hence looking for new ball & such.

why Spinning, hmm, probably I was influenced by my deceased uncle who taught me & my bro this style decades back, in a way, it's also in a way to remember his teaching & I'm quite comfortable using this style since young

Hi pple,
I just bought a 12 pound Ebonite Cyclone 3 weeks ago at Kovan for $200, fingertip grip drilled.
Cyclone - Black/Gold/Silver | Ebonite - Bowl to Win | Bowling Balls & Bowling Equipment

I'm very new to bowling, and could not hook the ball much still.
My average now is <100, and lots of gutter balls... so not used to this grip..
I'm having blister on my right thumb left side after 2 weeks of playing 8 games/day, 2days/week...

Using a wrist guard as well...

I think its because of my wrong technique that i'm getting blisters.

Can anyone give some advice/feedbacks on how my ball perform, how i should practise (practice approach, forward roll first?), how frequent, and is it more worthwhile to get a coach for a kickstart?

Had been watching youtube videos and observing how others play, but it all seems too easy until i try..

My goal is to throw stroker style (like Duke Norm!) but its a long way there... i want to play leisurely for enjoyment (tournament/leagues is a far fetched dream..)
