Will prefer to buy original one since pads n tyres r important components of safety.

I agree w u. Was also deciding between so many Supposedly OEM brands like Bendix general ceramic, and many others Bendix like abt $50, and other brands some even as low as $30.

In the end decided, for everyday use, not seriously speeding, and low noise, low dust and long-lasting, bought from stockist the original pads at $90+ for front... Workshop labour only abt $30, kiasu abit do brake fluid bleeding and change then shld b good for daily drive Liao. Won't eat rotor too!

anyways, i cant hear the screech when all my windows are up.

My EBC green hot liao then got sound. But have to say that it is much better than stock and won't "eat" rotor.

yup. mechanic told me if i use stock brake pads, every time i change pads, i have to change rotor. now that i'm using EBC greenstuff, he said every 2nd time i change the pads, then i change the rotor.

or any place that does brakes? sometimes got a lot of vibrations, very loud noise + can feel vibration by touching hand brake stick or holding onto car frame

i've the same problem as u. but my rotors and pads are new and the wobble only happens when i do high speed harsh braking

What do you mean by wobble, you sure it is not the ABS kicking in?

as in the steering wheel will just go like left right. have to hold it tight if not will go out of control.

i dont think it is ABS because the dash board did not indicate ABS activated and i did not hear the brakes pumping.

4x 205/55/16 conti cpc 5, made in germany, end oct 2012 typres = 640 in this workshop A

And workshop A recommend workshop B for brake pads

I have asked for original honda brake pads which i think they give me nissin pads and charge me 360..

And i did a repair of one rim at 30 at workshop A.

Total damage 1030. Paid by CC.

Ya, i have called up another workshop for quote.. charge 300 for 4 brake pads.

Ya, i didnt check 1st because im changing my tyres and so i thght since the wheels are out might as well change it..

Hi,

Does anyone have any workshop to recommend that sell original brake pads for honda civic 1.6?

I wish to use back the same brand and type of brake pads.

The pads sold by kah currently for front at $190 and for rear at $170 exclude labour charge.

Another workshop riverview auto that i have found charged for front at $100 and for rear at $70 to $80 and labour charge between $40 to $50.

Are the prices provided by this workshop reasonable?

The work shop has mentioned that there are alot variants of the brake pads ( like quality wise ) on the market but as far as i can remember kah work shop has told me that there are only 1 type of brake pad for civic.

Are there something i need to be aware of? Thank you for your advice.

perhaps you mean roughly every 2-3 times you change front brake pad, you will need to change rear brake pad ?

perhaps you mean roughly every 2-3 times you change front brake pad, you will need to change rear brake pad ?

it is really every time change brake pads, change rotor. something about the stock pads causing high rotor wear. I guess that's how German car manufacturers earn money

Stock Honda Original Parts brake pads, go to stockists like Thien Seng at Waterloo to buy them, then bring them to your preferred workshop to get them changed. If it can wait, do so during your next servicing which should reduce the labour charge a bit.
