Edmwers complain bread expensive but outside I see those bakery shops always got long queue. Sometimes I suspect edmw is a forum from a parallel universe.

Seeing some shops boasting their bread made of overseas sourced premium flour with organic eggs

Low quality or atas bread are still bread.

Real bread gets mouldy in our climate in a day.
Low or atas both put stabilizer, so don't matter as much as you think :(

Problem with bread is it is processed carbo, it gets absorb into the blood and cause glucose spike very easily.
It triggers your hunger faster and you will need to eat bread non stop until you becomes bui like a bun. :(

Those without preservatives will likely get moldy by 3 - 4 days whether you buy from outside or make your own bread

Last time i knew this British baker who still resides in KL, he grinds his own flour.
He told me in actual, 1 day in our climate becomes mouldy liao, just that people don't see it.

But his scones are really good, it makes all the scones you find outside like rubbish.

Bread can be stored in freezer for up to 2-3 weeks if u wrapped it with a damp paper napkin.

Put it side a ziplock bag.

Take it out to defrost and microwave/steam/toast it.

This is to optimise the cost if you buy those 600~800g bread
