If your budget is around $100.... I recommend KZ AM16 if you like detailed and bassy IEM... it is a 8 BA per side all balanced armature IEM... though I do not have it.. but based on the reviews from credible reviewer.. it should be quite good.. and it is like half more like $58++ on shopee...



And can consider getting the AM02 Type-C DAC also.... I like it over my other more bulky portable DAC...

And it works with inline microphone often found on some of IEM...

My other 2 portable DAC does not work with the microphone. Creative SXFI AMP & FiiO KA13....

Or you can consider a budget planar like KZ PRX... that one really not bad, but yes you do need to use a DAC with it.

Yeah the fit and feeling of wearing Etymotics is like stuffing an anal plug into your ears. Even if the sound quality is like having all the angels in heaven singing live for you, its also not worth it unless you have an "acquired" taste of inserting long objects into your orifices.

But got take note some IEM the girth of the protruding part is quite wide also... widest I noted is KZ Castor Pro it is thicccc... and that is before you put on the ear tips... so might be easier to use with a soft silicone ear tip.

Recently just bought Sennheiser HD550... so not really looking at IEM.. but I did have AM16 in my cart.. just dunno when to click buy... as I dun have an all BA IEM yet...

Knn... after few years of owning Creative Outlier Air V3 then I discover why I dun like the sound... I used the wrong ear tips...

I have been using the L size ear tips that causes it to sound bad dunno is it too filmsy or something.. today I dug out the other sizes from my original box.. and put on the M size.. and was able to insert deep and suddenly with the good seal.. it sound 10 times better... and also discover it actually have a sort of noise cancelling function also..

And also discover the app I bought and use PowerAMP actually have PEQ equalizer inside and I can just choose the EQ most closely resemble my ear set...

Not exactly a fan of messing with settings and stuff within my phone since it is all so small text... that is why I love KZ dongle since it has preset EQ with a touch of the button.

No lar... frankly it probably cannot even win cheap KZ IEM lor... because the fitting is very finnicky... one wrong angle.. all the sound leaked and sounded like

Very difficult to get a good fit... that is why I hated those kind of TWS...

This Creative Outlier Air V3, I just want to buy to try try during the Creative sales.... end up hard to get a good fit.. thus affecting sound.. and also easy to drop out also.

And when I got a good fit... it is kinda like a good detailed bassy IEM... maybe like Castor Pro but less bass?
