Building my first computer(Need advice)

I am building my first gaming computer and briefly read a short guide lessons 1-3 on this website: lifehacker.com/5828747/how-to-build-a-computer-from-scratch-the-complete-guide.

Got a list of built computers specifications from this website:logicalincrements.com/ , mainly going for the superb or excellent tiered builds.

Hopefully i am not breaking any rules for posting links, just want to let people know how much i know of regarding this subject and my references.

Mainly i want to be able to run games such as: Overwatch, Fallout 4, Skyrim, Witcher 3 and Crysis 3 at the highest settings or somewhere close, while maintaining a consistent 60fps or more if possible.

Right now i have a rough idea of what i want in terms of the specifications of my gaming computer. (Prices are from the website)

Just wanted to know if there are better alternatives in terms of the different parts that i should get, for e.g. should i get GIGABYTE Z270XP or MSI Z270 SLI motherboard or is there other better compatible/more suited for my build/better in general/convenience and such.

I will much prefer the slightly more expensive alternative because i don't want to mess myself up by choosing to save on a few bucks here and there.

Motherboard:
GIGABYTE Z270XP-140USD
MSI Z270 SLI-140USD
ASRock Z270 Killer 140USD
ASRock Z270 Pro 4-120USD

Either one of the 4 motherboards, most likely getting GIGABYTE Z270XP.

CPU:
i5 7400-190USD
i5 7500-202USD
i5 7600K-235USD

Most likely getting i5 7600K, but might get others if its higher specs is not necessarily needed.

Case:
Storm Striker-100USD
Rosewill THOR V2 Gaming Full Tower-120USD
Enthoo Pro-150USD

Not really sure which i should get, but if there are other better cases in terms of cooling and easier cable management, it would be best. And i am getting GTX 1070 GPU, not sure if its a lot bigger than GTX 1060 to affect the type of case i should get.

Most likely getting GTX 1070, but again not sure if its necessary.

Hard Drive:

Should i get 1 TB's worth or 2TB considering i have already got a WD portable HD of 1TB? Does storing my games on a portable HD affect the performance of the games or lag time and such, as compared to storing them on the internal HD?

Optical Drive: Might just get a single one and from what i have read, it doesn't affect me for my gaming needs.

Read about PSUs and generally it's better not to try and save on them, so would get EVGA GS 650W, if there's no other better alternatives.

Not sure about how much space if necessary for SSD, still don't really quite get the function of SSDs. Are they just faster performing HDDs when the data is stored on them than when data is stored in HDDs?

Monitor: Not really sure which monitor to get. Preferably one that is great for gaming in the sense that it doesn't strain my eyes as much as a cheaper one.

Not really sure what other parts i should get like sound cards or wifi cards or stuff of that type. I am very new to PC hardware so pardon me for my misunderstandings and being just ignorant about all of this.

My budget is about 2000SGD or less preferably. Including the price of the monitor.

And if you guys have any essential tips and tricks to building a PC, or good websites to recommend and good stores in Singapore or websites to shop at for good prices and warranty coverage, just throw it all at me.

My friends recommend TradePac because they got their Desktops from there, only they didn't build it themselves.

Where do you live? Are you planning to go sim lim square... Sometime it isn't worth a trip going there especially if its far. If you live in north, i recommend cybermind in northpoint.

I live in Jurong East. But if it's really the best choice to go to Sim Lim Square i don't mind making the trip there.

With 2000sgd budget, you dont rlly have much to worry. Tho do note that you may wanna priortise getting good gpu like 1070 and 1440p monitor. Get the cheapest core i5 7 or 6th gen. Actually even with 4th gen i doubt it will even bottleneck 1080... :/

Yeah, i don't mind having 1080 resolution, and i'm most probably getting 1070 GPU.

Seasonic psu is good enough just saying. Get 212 evo. If you play mmorpg, you may wan get more ssd so you can install in ssd.

Do not install games into portable hdd. Get a 1tb hdd wd blue and install whatever games u want there. Use your portable hdd only for media or downloads

No. Rather than going IT fair. You are far better off going sls buy a whole build or get parts from amazon and build on your own. Both methods should still be cheaper.

Chances are for such failures you would need rma it. Basically ship it back to amazon at your own cost. But usually for stuffs like gpu, nah chances are too low. Psu better get it locally. They tend to have 5 or 7years warranty.

Ya. Then get it from sls. They are OKAY so long you are making a full build there. Dun buy individual parts in sls. Psu is the only exception.

Why not buy individual parts in sls? I am planning on future upgrades for my rig. And where can i get a good price for OS? Sls?
