lol totally newb better to pay a bit more $ and just get a pro to do it. PC Themes won't scam right?

Plus, what abt sound card and speakers, any recommendations? Smth decent; doesn't have to be damn good though

PCT is the most reliable shop in SLS i can vouch for them personally from my experience

Yes pct is reliable, but do check after they finish assembly, as they might overlook some things.

if you are using high end speakers, it's worth investing in a good sound card. if using average speakers, on board is more than enough unless you got $ to spend

I bought most of my components at PCT, they are friendly and accomodating but a bit too busy that time I went. My only problem is some of the items I bought did not match the pricelist..... They charged me more than the pricelist prices and when I asked for discount they only slashed 5 bucks when My total was 1.8k+.....

Wa seems like I should buy frm tradepac and go to PCT for assembly. Looks like I can save almost 200. And regarding sound card, I don't plan to blast music or play games with extraordinary sound quality, but is the sound card on the motherboard sufficiently alright to live with?

Bro, buy at Tradepac and go see Nigel to assemble for a fee. That is the advice here and I believe in the bros here give very good suggestions.

Already said to bring to #02-32 liao..... You dun buy phone from M1 and bring to Singtel to ask them to preset phone settings, tio bo?

With your budget of $1.4k, you should be able to bargain up to $80-100 bah... On board audio quite decent, no need for seperate soundcard.

Nigel aka GS shop is PC Care & Solutions. A friendly shop which help do servicing, repairing and assembling jobs.

Not recommended to ask Tradepac to help u assemble coz they had kaput some screws, etc from boxes and you will only know when you need them. Nigel does not do that.

lol apparently their reviews aren't fantastic at tradepac. But even if I go elsewhere to assemble if tradepac shortchanges me by taking stuff outta the box when I buy then passing it to me, wouldn't it be the same issue? Or are their items all sealed up and they only take it when you ask them to help u assemble lol

What you can do is to research on each component, know what goes inside the box and what you should be receiving. You can always ask to inspect items first before paying up and after bargaining. Ask them to lay items out on table and u check first. Once done, pay them.

But, please be very sure what you should be receiving. Dun make a scene like whereby you accuse them of taking away the SLI bridge when you bought a B85 mobo nia... Know your components well and the components' components. :s13::s13:

Jialat lol i'm a newb and the chances of me getting ripped off is pretty high. Prob will just pay the premium to go PCT and get a peace of mind. Prob will get my dad to come along cause i think he knows his stuff better than I do. Thanks for all the help guys! It's been really enriching :) I'll probably revise my budget upwards cause it seems like the 1.2-1.4k quote won't stand if i go to PCT.

Any cooling fans to recommend? My room is dam hot lol

If there are no obstructions in front of the fan, then AF120/140. If there are, then SP120.

They are quite ex at $28 each or $45 a pair.

You can actually download PC Themes pricelist and get the total pricing for the items.
