3a)Any advise on whether i should go for all the 11 units ? if have 410 units what is the strategy to sell the 10 units ..i do not have much experience of dealing with odd shares
3b) or just go for 1 unit to make the no of units to round the units off to 400 . Can i opt to buy only 1 to round off the no of units to 400 ?
3a does not make sense to me if you have no intention to hold on to this for the medium to long term. Trading with odd shares is easier nowadays but the relatively higher brokerage cost and buy-sell gap will definitely negate any 'savings' or discount you may get from participating.

3b makes better sense but not by much. It's definitely possible to just buy 1 unit but ask yourself if it is worth paying $2 for that 1 unit.

3C) What are the options of paying for the units... I am online savvy ..can i pay thru online options ? can i pay using uob or ocbc internet banking ?
It is now possible to participate in rights/PO etc by using PayNow to pay for your rights/PO. Pls note that there is a $2 transaction fee. The instruction to do so will be in the Instruction Booklet which you should have received by now.

Subscription price ($1.025) higher than market ($1.01), hence best option is to do nothing and let it lapsed?

It depend you using what kind of account is it custodian or CDP if go by CDP your each trade comm fee is typically around 10-25. Subscribe using paynow etc cost you $2 so do your own maths.

My take is if on custodian just let it lapse buy from market better. But I am a bit confused as usually for rights the market will balance out such that it is trading at the rights subscription price or maybe a slight discount. But this stock that discount is quite big (my own definition) so is there something going on internally that insiders know we retail investors dunno? Hmmm....

There is no point to subscribe unless you are rounding up odd lots. Let's make the underwriters lose some money, for doing a poor job during the placement.

3e) if i opt for say 44 or 13 units ....is it true i cannot pay using cpf ....................? What are the options to pay ?

Any thoughts on the above is welcome.. Thanks in advance for sharing yr experiences and hoping to get some guidance ....

Yes you can opt to subscribe to less than your entitlement, even just 1 unit.

If your main concern is that you are left with odd units, and you don't really want to get more units at this price, I want to point out also that for both cash or CPF you can sell off odd units quite cheaply with FSMOne. Check out the other thread.

FSMOne cannot DIY sell odd lots. You need call them up ask them do. And the price transacted maybe different from the board lot pricing and usually is lousier.

FAQ
Trading for SGX, HKEX, Bursa and China A-Shares Odd lots is currently not available online, you may contact our client services hotline at +603-2149 0619 (MY Dealing Hotline) for the trading of SGX/ HKEX/ China A-Shares/ Bursa odd lots. Yes but he can amalgamate the sale of the round lots and the odd lots as a single trade, in one phone call. The price for the round lots is the regular market price so overall it is not that bad.

@lzydata/@sohguanh thanks for your assistance ..thanks for sharing yr experiences ...this information is gold ... ..Appreciated .

Tomorrow likely i will buy thru the uob atm 1 share to round off my 399 shares to 400 though i must admit i have never applied for any REIT rights so some basic qs :)

1) I just need to apply and make the payment at the atm for 1 unit and pay the amount at the atm ....

2) That is about it ...correct ? Any other process or any other pointers i am missing ,,,, Sorry for the seemingly basic qs but idea is to get it right .....

Thanks a lot !

You need to know 1 share cost so little and pay $2 fee unless your intention is to sell off the stock soon else why waste monies to round it to 400? You don't like odd number to appear on your statement?

being so hung up about someone spending $2 to round up his odd lot is really missing the forest from the trees. It doesn't break the bank or plunge you into poverty whatever you do.

The question people should ask is whether HMN will eventually go above $1.025 which is the rights price. I am confident it will go above $1.025, so I really have no issues spending $2 rounding up my holding.

But pls DYODD, some stocks might not be so good after rights issue. Sadly I remember Frasers CT rights at $2.25, now underwater though I think it did go above $2.30 at some point. Moral of story, take some profit after rights issue.

On the other hand, I applied for $10k+ Sembmarine rights shares at @0.08, sold at 0.139, nice profit. 😅

If you are doing this for the first time, ensure you have your CDP account no. when you do it at the ATM.

I suggest you try transacting through CDP online and pay using PayNow. The process is quite easy to navigate.
