10.5year old. I bought 2nd hand when it was 8.5year old.

Not sure if previous owner had changed engine mounting before.

o ok... a good mech should be able to to visually inspect the condition of these mountings and bushings... not difficult to see if a new set is required...

is250 front and rear engine mounting is less than 150sgd iircc... yours should be the same price or slightly cheaper? check with stockist... buy it and get ur mech to fix it. should be cheaper that way..

Does workshop in jb do changing of rubber parts on engine mountings?

Sent from Xiaomi MI MAX using GAGT

You mean part of the mounting???
Don't think any mechanics willing to do just part of it. Change the whole piece.

Hi TS,

Based on your description, it is less likely the Engine mount. (although the EM is always the vibration causing)

is looked like misfired to me, EM when getting old there will be vibration for sure, but the vibration is consistent and in small scale, if intermittent on and off bigger vibration usually due to the misfired, especially when idling if you still can find on and off bigger vibration. (spark plug + the spark wired, you can ask the workshop to check this part, they will put the spark plug one by one out to see which one causing the issue, this phenomenon usually caused by aging spark plug and component)

my Old Camry have the exact symptoms and was rectified, now run like a new car.
replacing EM is more expensive than to replace the spark plugs, suggest to do the this before the EM replacement.

Thanks for the explanation. My initial guess are EM or ignition coils or both.

I have changed spark plugs, air filter, cleaned MAF and throttle body few months back during servicing but the intermittent vibration was still there.

Another suspected culprit could be the ignition coils. The car will sometimes slight jerk forward when I move from stationary(in drive mode) or when I brake towards stop position.

Hi all,

My car will vibrate when the car is stationary, engine and aircon on, on drive mode. The vibration came randomly.

But when I switch off the aircon, the vibration went away but could still feel a bit of vibration.

Anyone can advise what could be the problem? Engine mounting, ignition coil etc?

Thanks

Also driving an axio, going to be 10 years old. Recently started vibrating obviously when idling, decided to change engine mounting.

Now cannot even tell whether engine turn on or not cos minimal vibration.

misfired cant be solved just changing spark plug.

need to change the wire+device (they call it coil on plug) that control the firing as well.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OEEi1Gztaro0ib0-Sp8o0HoD7_yTfSS-

normally it need to replace all, by trial and error to pull each out to test just to isolate which one causing most. if you intend to drive this car for long, change 4 of them, if you intend to just drive for short term don't bother la.

it will deteriorate further when your car will jerk and hesitate to move forward when pressing pedal when misfired become worst.

Isn't that the ignition coil? Or you mean the red/yellow/white wires?
