Maybe IRAS sent a list of NRICs to Cardup to only allow these for one-time payment, and cannot exceed the amounts due. And this list contains those that had overpaid or had refunds issued.

Can the forummer which posted the email from Cardup confirm if he had received any refunds from IRAS?

Hopefully so. It is reasonable for CU to ensure the payment does not exceed the total tax amount due. But not to just paint brush everyone to one-time payment now.

Unfortunately that's not the case. I'd just received the notification email from CU, even though I did not exceed the monthly repayment amount and paid well ahead of time.

Oh well, as they say, all good things must end, and this time no thanks to those bad apples among us. :(

Card up only makes sense if you are using a rebate card which gives more than 2.6% rebate (common ones are UOB one and BOC family?), correct? Anyone using card up with miles card? Does that make sense?

UOBone, BOC family and Maybank plat

Miles card, depends on how much u value miles.

let say u whack a $10k bill. 2.6% = $260

Lets say your miles rate is $1 to 1.2mil

Hence you earn 12,312 spending $260.

I tried to set up the income tax payment this month, and noted they wanted a submission of the statement of account as well as to ensure we are making payment for the WHOLE outstanding tax liability, not just $600 which I have been paying.

So is it game over for income tax payments?

I think so. I diverted my payment into insurance premiums this month instead of income taxes.

To help to meet spending requirement for card rebate and bank bonus interest. Card rebate more than cardup charges so worth it.

Update on knowledge management here.

Cards that accept CardUp for 5% cash rebate
UOB One Card (capped at $2000 per month), BOC Family Card (capped at $600 per month)

Insurers that allow partial pre-payment of premiums
Great Eastern
AIA
Prudential
Aviva

So that means, if your premiums of $6000 is due in September, you can pay $2000 in June, $2000 in July, and $2000 in August, and the insurer accepts it.

Minimum CardUp Fee

$3.40, that means minimum payment of $130 per transaction is required to make your payment worth it.

For MINDEF AVIVA GTL

Choose "Health Insurance" Category, and under the "Policy Number", you put in your NRIC. Then take a screenshot and email them after you have make a payment.
If BOC Family Card supports awarding of rebate here, technically it would make sense that their Qoo10 card which also offers rebates for online spend would work too right?

Hi all

been trying to search on insurance via cardup

I have TM and Aviva term insurance, and also Aviva Mindef

TM there's only 1 bill organiztion, but for Aviva there are 3? which should I use? Thought I read that minded is under health insurance? or is that outdated?

Also read earlier not to cancel GIRO but arrange payment weeks earlier instead? Why so?

Thanks everyone.
