Visit any of the ceiling fan shops and ask for their recommendations. There are a lot of such shops in Jalan Besar and Geylang. If you are in the Hougang, Sengkang and Punggol area, you can visit yafen for better prices.

I have been using Crestar Icol 40" and 46" for 2 years now. I like the fans - windy and light is bright.

The 40" one so far so good. But the 46" one starts to produce intermittent noise when it's spinning. I didn't notice the noise in the early stage. A handyman refused to fix for me and advised me to call Crestar directly. Since it's out of warranty, Crestar will charge $35 for transportation and $10 labour per fan. I really don't know how did the noise come about. Could it be because the blades are not balanced after my helper wiped them?

After reading so many reviews in this forum and elsewhere, I have come to the conclusion that ceiling fans are for the attas and need tender care to last. I have therefore decided to continue using my standing fans in my home as my helper will not give tender care and will be easier/cheaper to replace. :s13:

Hello all

I wonder if anyone is using Franco dan here. My question here though doesn’t mean it only applies to Franco. Not sure why but mine suddenly gives a “weng” sound non-stop, not sure what’s the problem

Put some wd40 in the fan and see how. My amasco fan also got noise after 10 years of operation. Wd40 will fix it if it's not due to fan blades balancing. Tell your helper to wipe the blades gently to avoid stressing the fan blades
