For a normal hdb 4 rm
Living hall - recommend at least 56inch or 60inch Dc ceiling fan

Bedrooms (if rooms have built in wardrobes with casement doors types consider smaller size if it‘s sliding doors type will be bigger ones)
Two common bedrooms - 46" or 48" A.C ceiling fans with lighting kit.
Master bedroomn - 48“, 50” or 52 AC Ceiling fans with lighting kit.

Can forget about the brand amasco as they are well known un-contactable or so called play cat and mouse game for their repairs service.
Haiku fans if vitamin $$$ alot, might as well consider Spin
Fanco quality slightly above the average with reasonable price, but no choice for big size fans
Acorn a.c fans for big fans might need replacement of capacitor after some years.

Elmark is old timer or established brand, for me would be trying out their 60” DC Ceiling fan for living rm soon, so can‘t say much yet.

Looks like seldom got ppl buying n install wall fan. Is it because of home theme or ceiling fan is better than wall fan?

For those ceiling fans with lights attached, are the lights dim ?

I'm thinking to use just ceiling fan light for the bedroom if possible.

I am using Crestar ceiling fans with LED light. The light is surprisingly bright but the fans have annoying clicking sound whenever they are powered on. The technicians said that it's a common problem for ceiling fan with LED light.

It is better to install separate light beside ceiling fan.

Looking at installing ceiling fan for my parent's place.
It has a recessed area with 57" width on the flat surface with a cornice trim around it.
One one side there is a pelmet depth of 48cm for curtain

I hear some shops say can install only 32-36" cause need 2 feet clearance from the pelmet obstacles. Some shops say can go for 56" as there is space front and back for airflow?

Getting confused by what they say.
Any expert can advise how big of a fan I can get?
Any one installed and has a same situation as mine here?

Here's a profile view of what I meant.

I'm no expert but you can go for 52" fan. The blade will be roughly about 10" from the ceiling. Just don't go for those "hugger" type.

Currently i have a 42" ceiling fan but doesnt get much wind from where i was sitting on my couch in the living room. Only my lower body feel the wind. Living in 4 room bto flat.
I have a 60" by 60" cut out of the false ceiling. The fan is installed in between the cut out.
Is it due to the size of the fan?

Looks like the cut out is hindering the air intake.

Just means energy saving. But I feel that when you want to fix it yourself by parts replacement, it will be tougher since it's mostly electronics.

In machine manufacturing industries, AC powered devices can generally output more power and is less costly versus the DC counterparts. DC powered devices claim to be energy efficient because of the variable speed drivers or something similar that adjusts the power consumption based on the requirement.

tl:dr
More hot = more fan speed = more current/energy
AC devices more powerful at times

Hope it helps.

That leaves around 9 inches at the side for the air to circulate round the back to be blown down. Maybe lower the fan below the cutout if your ceiling is high enough or get a smaller fan

Ac can push more wind but the motor can get hotter. Dc is more efficient but to provide that efficiency, the motor is smaller and therefore rpm and torque is lesser.

In general, AC motor also more lasting then DC motor (which required more electronics circuit too).

Yes it use less power, but is also much more expensive. You probably cannot brake even for price you pay vs electrical saving in 10 years.
