Here s my counter question to you. 1950s was broadly regarded by Americans to be their golden age. When the American dream was real. Owning a car a house and most importantly a stable and well paying job to support the whole family. But it was also the age of segregation, where blacks and non whites were not allowed the same facilities and rights the dominant race, I.e. the whites did. Would you argue for a return to those times just because it represented the best days for a certain portion of the population but he'll for others?
I see the same thing happening in this forum, nostalgia for a supposed golden age in singapore and tendency to scapegoat external elements. Things change even if we don't, the rest of the world will too.
Don’t overthink it. TS is referring to the time before woke ideology.
The elite left thinks that because the WEST is so wealthy, they need to let the South Americans, Middle Easterners and Africans enter illegally, support them with taxpayer dollars and eventually naturalize them.
They think that because of slavery and years of discrimation, there should be lenient laws and affirmative action to benefit the blacks regardless of their capabilities and qualifications.
Don’t even get me started on why they want to promote the normalization of LGBTQ to children to the point where preteens are encouraged to take hormone shots and ‘transition’.
The West have always had soft power and for the most part, it has been benign if not somewhat liberal compared to more conservative Asia mores. But this whole woke ideology they are exporting? Screw that. I’m glad Trump is there to take them on.
