i read a few forums apparently thats the case with some androids, that it doesn't support adhoc networks till a later version of firmware comes out

no la.. it is about the make of the internal wifi card chipset la.....my prototypes so far ok...even the 2.2 is fine...

I upgraded it to 1.6T and it looks like its rooted already, downloaded root explorer and I can chmod the system files etc.

the lack of connectivity to ad-hoc networks is really still a pain

there was a method of modifying the .conf file as another bro mentioned but its super leychey, got to change it everytime you wanna switch between adhoc and infrastructure wireless networks. :s

Yup. The 8GB is already 147.99 USD now. But the price difference can easily get you a much larger microsd card.

Do not buy the 4GB version. It's likely merimobiles mistakes in the description. It is likely the basic version, which uses a weaker processor

Take a look at the Q&A of Telcast P76 they are selling u'll know. 1st they say it's capacitive screen, next Q&A they say it's resistive. P76 as far as I know only have resistive screen, just like Novo 7A as far as I know only have 8GB version.

I am also using free postage , it took forever to process (it's been 5days and not it's not shipped out yet)

I made some 'noise' to them wrt why they take so long to process. They pointed out in a small clause for sale items that it may take up to 5 days for processing. I LL ! Yup, if u look again it does say so in the sale webpage. Also, the 5 days does not include Sat, Sun & Public holdays! Anw, hang on in there it won't be long now.
