the veolo is using android firmware, meaning there is no IMS right?how much is the ainol novo 7 series? the shanzai that lousy ah? i take it that this tablet on the deal.com.sg sucks from your comments. just saw the specs for 7 series. really a lot better than than this lepton brand and cheaper. thanks!

but how come the ainol processor is only 1ghz while this is 1.5ghz?

Ya just google veolo is android 2.2 with a 1GHz Cortex A9 chipset. If that's the case, you have to make sure those media codecs can play well. File format in most cases are just the container, you have to test the codecs.

Yes using MX Player or others can overcome the shortcoming of limited codecs. BUT there's difference in hardware decoding and softwaredecoding

In any case I don't have much experience with Ryan products as I'd joined boycotting them when they released their 1st 1185 player that had many problems and not addressing them well.

Mind you I won't say any allwinner A10 tablet sux. It's normally the firmware or the price that sux. These 2 points I'd addressed in earlier posts.

Ainol Novo7 series (except Novo7P & Novo7B) use Allwinner A10 clocked at 1GHz. Allwinner A10 is said to have the potiential of running at 1.5GHz, which I believed it's with huge heatsink/fan/cooler. So normal tablet operation, only 1GHz or at unstable 1.2GHz working condition.

Ya there's a lot to read, you are very lucky the China tablet community had currently settled for Allwinner A10 tablets. It took me about 3months of reading just to decide on A10 back in Oct 2011.

In any case, read up more, do your own reasearch, then decide.

I think I wait 1 month, or at least till have time to research more on upcoming trend in China media player. Kinda busy lately, haven't gone IMP3 in a while.

Also very scare after buy this liao, they come up with Allwinner A10 one... U know lah, now A10 so porpular and price reduced. The A10 PCB now only 170RMB have liao, think wholesale even lower...

BTW I think the new essential rom 1.0a for Novo7Au has power management fix liao. I let it standby for 5hrs not much power drained. But sensitivity still not as good as 0.9a/b and no USB charging.

It's not like we don't have other branded devices. I do own A500 & Note. kyleongwl has prime, ipad, 7+. China tablets is more like cheap trill toys

Its 1199 (basic set) through taobao..
With case 7 SP , 1299rmb.

I believe its A10T Blade.
Allwinner A10, 1G + IPS screen with 8g size...like Novo 7 Aurora.

Was into it...waiting for price to drop further as well.

Guys, I intend to get a tablet for my girl.

It would most probably for her to use it to watch youtube, some games and surfing.

I had read about the A10 chipset tablet and would probably settle for 1 that comes with this chipset.

I have some qns and hope someone can help me with it,

1) Is there 3G model for these MIC tablet. If so, are they using GPRS, HSDPA or the latest technolgy which is what the local telco is providing?

2) Is bluetooth tethering possible? Intend to bluetooth tether using a iPhone 3GS.

3) Which tablet has a better community support?

4) Which tablet has the best design form, in terms of thickness and weight?

5) Lastly, what is the best method for purchase?

I'll ask somemore when I think of any.

Generally, the device is ok.
It is a single core, like P1000 (the first Samsung Tab..which is during Ipad 1 days). If u read further back, Gemei G9 which is about S$20 more is a 16G and 5Mp camera..

1) Do you wish to part approx S$300 for a China tab?
2) R u the reader type to read how to update firmware?
3) R u/GF a Android user

If u expect a Plug & Play, don't.

Very new I think just out for like a week. Going to wait till confirm got stable firmware then get. Or better still wait for one that can put HDD inside

edit: Eaget this brand generally ok, i have one of their media player with record function for almost 1 year. Workmanship maybe not as good as bigger brand like Himedia, but it's always value for money
