RK2918 is builded on A8, which is the same as allwinner A10.

Personally I hate RK2918 for 2 main reasons.

1. The update tools and driver not always the same, and update can be troublesome especially those lesser known brands.
2. The video codecs/format compatibilities not as good as allwinner A10.

Although RK2918 GPU is not as fast as A10, but most of the time it is more stable as it's been in the market longer. Operation speed is about the same for normal usage.

IIRC, U9GT2 does have custom roms on slatedroid and xda, which is one of the reasons I would recommend getting U9GT2 at 799RMB, dispite most allwinner A10 9.7" IPS will be dropping prices to 899RMB soon.

100RMB is not big of a diff for us in Singapore, but if you think about 299RMB can buy a normal A13 (crippled of A10) 7" tablet, 100RMB is actually 1/3 of that price:D

No point going for A10 9.7" if you need pay US$250. A10 9.7" IPS are slowly now back to 999RMB, and can drop another 100RMB soon.

Haipad been hard advertising on IMP3 that their A5 7" IPS tablet will be 499RMB. Battle of IPS tablets is slowly heating up again:s13:

WIFI:802.11 b/g/n
Camera:0.3MP

as gift?:p
wat r the other 8 in line...
Gee..now i found another insane user.

we shd meet n xchg our thoughts on MIC tablets

uh HALF a dozen not a dozen.

Using them as textbook/workbook replacements. plus can watch mathematics videos. explore mathematics apps to verify concepts, use graphing apps to observe how graphs behave and to check solution using wolfram alpha for calculus etc.

Anyway, the last 4 tablets would probably be teclast a10t also. Since the price of a10t is around USD160+ only. Now struggling a bit to decide if I just buy now as I don't have all my materials electronically ready. Only half my paper to tablet prep is done... if I buy later, USD160+ would be getting me duo processor tablets but do I need duo processors...? Head spinning abit.

Hi guys just received my g3 and im impressed with what my ~$100 got me. However im having trouble signing into market. Whenever i try to sign in i receive the following message.

"Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server

This could be a temporary problem or your phone may not not be provisioned for data services, If it continues, call customer care."

Help anyone?

Hi guys,

after attempting to flash my G3 to ICS, it can not longer turn on. Whenever i plug it into my computer, the popup from livesuite to choose upgrade mode(format or don't format) appears. Seems like my G3 is still in update mode(which i entered by pressing vol+ button while spamming power button.

Help anyone?

I recall this happening to me once too. Nothing happened when I pressed or spammed the buttons; as such I unplugged the USB cable.

To resolve, I plug the USB cable and when I got the Livesuit message, I clicked "Don't Format" and the Livesuit progress bar started moving. After which, the tablet worked! Hope you are successful too.

Gemei g3 512mb ram. Thats suprising cause the videos on youtube of g3 on ICS look smoother than my current GB experience

GB would be better than ics for stability. GB is more refined, less bugs, better battery life. ICS looks good, but battery life is not that good compared to GB. In videos the experience will always be better than what you finally get because they are trying to promote the product. I noticed on some videos that they take a long time to swipe from one homescreen to the next so there would not be a lag. Same with browsing through the apps drawer and also while playing angry birds. :s8:
