A week ago, foxbat mentioned he's quoted $239 for 7A from a "China counter" @ SLS. A few days later, Rivers actually got a 7A from SLS @ $199. He did mention he's got it from the "4th floor shop in front of the escalator". Did you get the quote from the same shop as Rivers? Or perhaps you've got the quote from the same shop as foxbat, but price has fallen a bit?

Yup. For those who can't wait can get from SLS. But, do walk around look & compare for best price. Also, weigh the condition/wrty clause for each of the different 'china counters'. I'm not saying wrty of 1 year from Merimobiles (online purchase from China) is the best or proven, but they do seem established versus SLS 'china counters' with 'wheels' if u get my drift again. However, the inconvenience wif Merimobiles is having to send back there if u require to exercise the wrty claim. (Touchwood. ) So here we are again as consumers, bring out the 'use your head vs desire of the heart', 'convenience vs cost' blah blah ...

As an update (late update) I recieved my T7 Samsung 7 inch tablet from MeriMobiles after 21 days exactly.
Seen from a forum reply:

It arrived in very good packaging and everything works great. I also have a unit that is experiencing a wifi issue (it drops its connection every 10 minutes or sooner if streaming), but I have a widget to reconnect quickly.

The updated ROM seemed to fix the issue, but it is back so I feel that it is an issue with firmware. I can also extend the drop time using a wifi app .

Seems like rom update might be able to solve the wifi connection

4Th floor lehz. 1St shop you see just out of escalator. Btw, i saw the 8a which seems to habe a nicer screen but A9 chip. Worth it or not arh?

Novo8 does have better screen, but more costly. I recall the battery life isn't as good as RK2918 or A10 tablets. However, it's still a good tablet.

It's actually a 5in1: Wifi client, Bridge, Repeater, Router & AP.

Novo 8A is amlogic aml8726-m A9 830Mhz with Mali-400 GPU. Not really a dual core, China sales likes to take the GPU as one of the core

Novo 8A battery life aren't as good as Novo 7A. Novo 8A has better screen, also it's 8".

It really depends on what's important to you. If more for surfing and reading, Novo8A with better screen might be better. If more for games and more all-rounder, Novo7A will be better.

It was mentioned IMM shop gives 1year warranty.

I forgot to mentioned, skype video actually works with 1.7B/1.7.2

Also tried tethering hotspot with Atrix and Xperia Play via wifi. Both work great Connection distance is about 1m.

Didnt went down to simlim but went to imm instead. saw the novo8 and it felt real good. v responsive screen. asked about novo 7 but they aren't carrying it. not too sure if they are intending to bring it in...
i'm thinking of ordering online. currently down to 3 options www.merimobiles.com , www.portablemall.com.sg, or from taobao. i got an email reply from portablemall sg that their price for the novo7a is 189sg with freeshipping by fedex. estimated shipping is like 4-5 days, comes with 1 year warranty i think but not too sure how to go about claiming warranty..
went to check out taobao also, they are offering v great price at 699 rmb++ with lots of accessories.. but like not very trustworthy i think... especially i think warranty is going to be v troublesome.. dunno if they will give warranty claim out of china...
any opinions on this anyone??

Ordered from merimobile on 18th Oct. Ad shows will be shipped within 5 business days. Today is the end of the 6th business day, and still it's yet to be shipped. Juz shot an email asking for the status. If still have to wait, I'll rather cancel the order and buy from portablemall instead. At least it'll reach me in 4-5 days. If I stick to merimobile, I will have to wait for another like 21 days or so. Or better still, get from SLS @ $199. Of course, provided I can find the shop that's selling it.
