Hey guys, thanks for all these wonderful information, especially the itineraries.
It might not be possible to post here due to rules, but I am looking for trusted driver/tour packages in Chiangmai, if any of you have tried with the companies, please do PM me and share with me.

I'm planning a vacation with my family (elderly), we are more into sightseeing/cultural tours. I hope August/Early Sept will not be too rainy season.:s12:

I know of two drivers in Chiang Mai who allows you to arrange flexi tour or they will plan a tour for you. Speaks basic Eng/Chi. Would you be interested?

I think their rates is about 1200B per day for car and slightly more for van.

Anyone tried free and easy chiang mai, chiang rai?
Is 6d5n enough? Not sure how many days should I spend in chiang mai, chiang rai.
Is that easier to book local tour there, or book it over here. Any good contact please share with me. I will be going there with parents. 3 person.

I would really recommend keeping a Sunday for Chiang Mai so you can visit the Sunday Walking Street just across the Thapae Gate.

There are tours agency all over Old City but prices varies and sometimes its just cheaper to book via klook or the likes. I'll PM you contacts for drivers though.

There are also cheap RTC bus that goes round the city which runs at 30mins interval and has 3 lines. You'll just need to inform the driver where you are headed to and pay 20B each.

You can download the app ViaBus to help you get around the city and it is pretty accurate for bus timings!

Many are also not aware that Central has paired up with various hotel offering free shuttle to the mall, various tourist attractions or to the airport. It runs in a 2 hour interval.

Old City is pretty much flock with 'Farangs' so do expect slightly more expensive food. However if you need Halal food, there's a muslim street.

Nimmanhaemin area is crowded with Chinese but that also mean more Chinese speaking sales assistant.

CentralFestival is a new mall which you can cover in a day.

GrabTaxi is readily available and discount code is smack everywhere (e.g. Central if you are visiting CentralAirport/ CentralFestival)

I think you can cover ChiangRai in a day or two depending if you decide to visit lots of temple and the pace you are visiting.

I don't recommend visiting between late June-July though as its the monsoon period and rain can be sudden. There are occasional blackouts too during stormy period.

:( wanted to share some pictures but I haven't reach the post counts.

I'm planning for this November for the Loy Kratong and Yee Peng festival. I will be travelling with 2-5 elderly who only understand Chinese. Anyone has contacts for Chinese speaking guides in Chiangmai? I would prefer a proper guide than just a make shift driver guide. I have checked with the local tour agencies. Their itineraries are so so and they are not flying in during that period too.
