Sim card sell in BKK for 299 baht, work for the whole of thailand.
New sim card buy from Changi recommend cheaper.

You need to do some research, then ask here, it's easier for us to help you.
Basically Chiang Mai is mountain area, can do few day trips. CM is famous of handmade items in the day and night market. Try to plan your Sat and Sun there.

Just avoid tha pae moat water and kena splash ice cold water can than the heat haha.
Not super hazy but bearable I feel no need to wear mask.
Songkran here is all night long can't wear jeans and stuff.
Cheap Songkran style clothes at the market and central airport mall.
Indriver 1/2 to 3/4 price of grab.

Small update:

Food is fantastic but not much cheaper than sg especially in Nimman. Stuff like sous vide burgers, Texas BBQ, steak, award winning coffee, even popular Thai roadside restaurants. Cheaper would be to go local places like the fresh market vendors. Plenty of China food but walked away from China people selling Thai food.
Tried the Michelin bib food is alright but no need to waste your time tbh.
I can put a Google map link here for food but I didn't manage to try all due to limited stomach space.

Parking is a bit **** in the city but driving is easy in and out of city. Cheaper than tour or taxi and necessary for OTOT going sticky waterfalls and mountains. Compare rates at airport, i will not risk using local companies to rip me off repairs. I paid about 900baht a day for the cheapest Toyota Yaris.

Nightlife is pretty decent but don't compare BKK of course unless talking about chai quality which is equal or better imho haha.

Drove to Chiang Rai but apart from the temples and nature sites it's sleepier than CM.

For both places, cannabis shops around every corner and the sleazy areas filled with old ang mohs. Can't give review on these places since I never patronised haha but quite gross to walk those areas.

That's why I skip Chiang Rai.
I stay Nimman area, I find the price still cheap unless you go branded restaurants like Ginger Farm etc.. I eat once at One Nimman food court very cheap.
