my app doesn’t have this page. Trying to book huanglongjiuzhan tickets back to Chengdu but can’t tell what time it opens

the 起售 time is only useful to know if you are pushing the 15 days limit to buy in advance.

if not, then everyday between 0800 to 1800hrs, at the top or bottom of the hour, is their 放票时间 where new or recycled tickets are released for sale. you can buy tickets at their normal operating hours between 0500 to 0100 hrs.

edit : for 黄龙九寨, the 起售时间 is 1530hrs.

Thanks so much. The tickets once released all wiped out for the 5+pm train which is like perfect. LL have to book the 2+pm train which not so ideal as I intend to tour Huang Long national park. Didn’t take this high speed rail since covid19 so hopefully not as difficult as before. Prior to covid, I was stuck at the security for so long and the train station is chaotic. Haha!

Are you able to buy for others or a few tickets using wechat? Or only everybody can only buy for themselves?
Also why travel agents seem to be able to get tickets easier?

Everyone should be able to get for themself, if you want to buy for everyone also can but need to enter their details accordingly.

In the wechat mini app display you look for the trail ride option

After which enter the place you want to travel from and destination, select the option mention in yellow if you only want high speed bullet train

Select the timing and seating category you want

After which you enter your name and password number, as to enter or exit the station will be based on your passport number. If there's more than one travelling person you can enter multiple details by additional more passenger details

Lastly there's a payment fee if you use international card credit. If you have wechat balance then no issue

Lastly if you need to refer your order then you can click on the order list below to review your ticket details or pending payment.

Has anyone managed to change their passport number in 12306 apps? My passport was already expired. I tried to update the new passport number but can’t do that. I read in Reddit someone suggest to delete the account and create a new account. I have tried to delete in the apps but it didn’t allow to proceed after I have select confirm. Any idea?

Try to go at least like 1hr early minus the travelling distance. If possible 1hr 30 minutes would be better.

Need at least 15-20 minutes to clear the station if it is a busy one for human manual clearance.
If the station is massive then you need to take sometime to find the entry.

Actually train is more productive. After my recent trip to Jiuzhaigou, my wife and I swore not to take high speed rail again. The people can really stampede and kill you if not careful. Usually we travel by business class or first class which is better. But suay suay return no ticket have to take 2nd class and there are full of standing ppl.

I respect those who can stand all the way 2+ hours

But the toilets in business class is shared with 1st class. So equally dirty. Only advantage is special check in Business class lounge. But nowadays also very difficult to secure business class tickets too.

I am ok with taking train in China... No need to rush, enough time for all to clear. For local traveling, I feel train is more comfortable than plane.

There is no need to rush when you take the high-speed trains if you have been assigned numbered seats. There will always be local people who rush to the boarding gate before boarding time, out of habit. At the platform, head for your assigned carriage and door, guided by the markings on the floor, before your train arrives. Again, there will always be locals who crowd to the door just when the train comes to a stop. Such behaviour is understandable if one is having the non-seating tickets, especially on the conventional trains.

There is a thing with luggage. Since the luggage limit is not enforced, passengers bring many pieces and oversized items on board, filling up the overhead rack to capacity and spilling onto the floor space, especially in second class and the conventional trains. If you are slow to board, stowage for your own luggage becomes a problem. In winter, the extra coats get hung on hooks by the window and the train interior looks very congested indeed.

I am looking at trip.com for high speed trains from Xi An to Beijing. Some timings state that the departure is Xi An while some state that it is Xianbei. Are they two different stations and which is the better option, when departing from Novotel XiAn The Bell Tower hotel?

西安北 station carries most of the high speed train traffic, thus more frequent services, more flexible for your planning. located nearer to the xian airport in the north. it has mrt access, but far out of the city center.

西安 station carries most of the old green train traffic (more than 10++ hours to beijing) but there are some high speed ones, but very much less frequent compared to the north station. located right at the north end of the old city wall, based on your hotel it is very much nearer.
