yes youtube will block if bgm matches certain songs ...... those music company submit a list to youtube which have to block all from appearing

example Ayumi Hamasaki songs appear on anime but any anime song compilation with it is hit landmine .... must exclude it

youtube have a tool to remove the song , it works very slowly like take 10 to 100+ minutes to pull it out of the uploaded video ....... and it's not stable because another music company will add in future and the video lockup again

Could it be the YT uploaders fear copyright issues with BGM / BMSongs that's why they only strip the dialogue?
I dun watch from YT now, but thru apps or other 短剧线上看平台
But seems like got some newer YT uploads dun have this issue liao... The older 短剧s in YT all got this issue

Not BGM after further analysis. It’s the expected background noise, the absence causes a cognitive dissonance as we subconsciously expect to hear them. Things like we see the character knock on door, there should be knocking sound. Strong wind blowing, leaves flying around, we expect to hear wind noise as leaves rustling. But these videos are missing them.

Some of these sounds are muted along with the BGM.

caveat: I usually watch at 2x speed (more interested in how the plot flows) cause 短剧 if you go into details, a lot don't make sense

This one is based on what is possibly the best novel in progress on Fanqie right now. The short drama format doesn't do it justice, this needs a proper drama length and experienced team like 庆余年 or 琅琊榜 to pull off properly
