Hi all,

I am having some issues since few years ago and now it seems to be more frequent than before.

Initially was just pain in my butt and sometimes have some aching pain in my legs, i was unable to walk properly and now, even when i turn while sleeping, it is causing me some pain.

Sometimes my leg will lose the strength to sustain my body weight due to the pain.

Initial suspicion was due to Scatia or Periformis . Didnt continue to get xray scan because its too expensive for me.

Any advise out there? Want to try chiro but seems to be very expensive.

Hi, just read your post. Not sure if you have already fixed the problem.

What you described is similar to my condition (I have A.S.). It seems like nerve pain which occur because of some misalignment of joints - bones or muscles pressing on nerve causing the pain.

Like what many bros suggested, you can seek treatment from a physio who will teach you to do exercises to reduce the pain. If you are broke, you could learn the same or similar exercises from YouTube.

For my case, these exercises did not fix the problem permanently. Recently I have been seeking treatment from chiro. Great relief of pain but still too early to say if the problem has been fixed permanently.

What’s TCM?

Funny you asked this question, and nobody replied to you. Are you really that naive and ignorant? :s11:

Anyway, I'll just give you the benefit of the doubt, TCM is traditional chinese medicine. It includes tuina, magic pills, magic lotions for you to rub, magic herbs for you to brew. Many people would swear that it is effective. I would swear that TCM is especially good for sports injuries and bones-realignment. :s22:

Nowadays, when you go to a hospital, they would suggest to you a whole suite of tests using super duper expensive state of the art equipment. This is one reason why medical costs are so expensive compared with the past when these tests were not available.

This is part of having world class hospitals in a first world country.

If you go to Malaysia, you will be treated without having certain procedures that are done here.

How come Malaysians can live with that?

But don't ask me why, when a Malaysian minister was sick, he came to Singapore for treatment.

Hi,

Can you share the contacts again as your links was down. Thanks.

Not sure whether TS managed to solve his neck/shoulder pain, but I was recommended to a Chinese physician who ONLY works on the neck and back.

I decided to visit him this morning, as I injured my shoulder after some bad golf. When I was there, I was surprised to see quite a no. of our fellow Malay countryman/woman sitting in the waiting room. There is no reception, just only a booklet of foolscap paper for you to write your name for the queue.

When it was my turn, I went into the consultation and Mr. Lee declared he only knows how to 'push' the neck and back, as most of our body pain are caused by these two mparts of our body. He first diagnose my lower back by pressing the spine and measuring the length of my both feet to see whether there is any misalignment. He then procced to twist the body.

He then went to work on my upper spine by press it. Some parts ache when he press hard on it, it was then he claimed that the vertebrae was misaligned. He then give my neck and back a good crack, and my shoulder ache was gone immediately.

I must say he is good at what he does and the fee is cheap, as compared to other TCM, who normally charge 50$. Though the time he spent on you is really very short, what matter most it is effective. The physician speaks English, so anyone who can't speak Mandarin well, can consider looking for him.

Attached is his business card with address. Do note that his clinic is closed on Tue, Thurs and Sun.

me too. I had scoliosis, i got treated by this sinseh at toa payph. He use acupuncture treatment but not those needle kind.

Sometime the pain comes back but after awhile it will.be gone. Strangely as i run, the back problem will.be gone.

Those days before the treatment the pain can be quite bad that i can turn my neck and affect my body very badly

Chiro would still work better for you but if money is an issue, can try sports massage or manual therapy.

Usually TCM helps with short term and less serious issues. If the pain comes back with a vengeance, best to seek out for experts like chiros/physios/manual therapists!

i got a neck strain on the right, any recommendation?
I would suggest a manual therapist! They will effectively take the pain away for you. Seems like your strain is from a short term bad posture. Can PM to share more with me if you want!

MRI scan. Yes, polyclinic referred me to CGH sports dept and i was told i needed to be scanned for 3 parts, my hip area, lower body and legs etc . I was quoted about 2K plus.

Even before treatment have to spent a bomb liao. Looking for alternative ways....
SGD$2,000 for a single treatment? I think you may want to try chiropractors! Can get a cheaper X-ray when they refer you (must pay 100+) then their treatment per session can be less than $100
