There was once my sister bought me dinner at an upscale restaurant. After dinner, the service staff tried to force her to pay them tips (like >10%) on top of the GST and service charge, which was nonsense. So she were arguing with the service staff, who were adamant that she pays the stipulated tip because they claimed that only the tips pay their wages. They were also personally attacking us by saying things like if we cannot afford to eat there then to not come and pretend like we can afford it, and insinuated that we were social escorts and should get our clients to come and help us pay.

My sister was getting quite angry and told them "Do you know why you guys work for tips? Because no one wants to stick the whole thing in".

I was actually quite impressed by that.
