its people like u whom dont even bother reading, understand, yet jumping the bullet....
Do u even read the details for casa promo?
Do u understand about Prevailing interest, Bonu Interests components? Section 8 of tnc
Do u know Bonus Interest credit date / window / cycle? Section 10 of tnc
hello, can you ask your trusty CSO in CIMB to satisfactorily explain why they presently have this page of interest rate table for existing customers? Where is the BI now? I have deposits waiting for them if they can

my transactions (opened a fastsaver account on 3 jan 2025), with deposits as follow:
3 jan 2025 $1K
7 jan 2025 $99K
13 jan 2025 $1K
14 jan 2025 $1K
21 jan 2025 $11k
22 jan 2025 (-)$0.1k (i made a withdrawal to see if it works, because up to this point, i couldn't until the verification video call was finally made with the bank to activate the account.)
28 jan 2025 $36k
30 jan 2025 $1.9K

Total of above is $150.8K (and my CIMB visa signature credit card spent was around $650)

Guess what?

the interest on 31 jan 2025 for the above was $134.89.
(am told by a CSO the interest starts from the date of deposit, if so why this interest amount? so can I believe the cso????)
I guess you are unhappy with the interest you get on 31 Jan 2025

1. $134.89 is the base interest for your FastSaver Deposits
2. The Bonus interest will be paid by end Apr (assuming you joined the Jan to Mar 2025 promo)
3. The credit card spend Bonus Interest will be x% for the first $25k of deposit. It will be credited the month following the credit card statement assuming your spend are all valid. Go see the picture Clause 40 ( a picture speaks a thousand words :))

1. yes. even with BI, the paid interest is low.
2. certainly from what is now updated on its website, it is no longer an attractive deal in Feb 25.

agree .... it is low.

But I don't understand why you decided to open the CIMB account beginning of Jan 2025 with your eyes closed and deposited funds into the account and spend with the credit. The Jan 2025 T&Cs were released first couple of days of Jan 2025.

Since this bank make you so unhappy with the miserably low interest, withdraw your funds mah  Still want to deposit more if the CSO provide a satisfactory reply to your queries?

it might have been a transition period sometime in Jan where they changed to the current term. Certainly when i was looking at it then it had the BI component. I didnt monitor that closely to notice when they switched to the current updated interest table.

if they made the interest rate switch in Jan 25, then the interest rate will be a pro rate of the old and the current ones which make it difficult to work out what the resultant interest rate will be.

Huh? By opening a new account and depositing minimum 5k in Jan 2025, you already locked in to the Jan-Mar 2025 promo and follows the TnC of that Jan 25 promo. Whatever is now shown is for new promo in Feb and doesn't apply to you.

from what i got for interest paid (even after accounting for BI in coming april) in jan 25, I dont think those TnC hold water

And if i read from the links that the current table say for existing customers
https://www.cimb.com.sg/en/personal...NgcufB_uDaZTgaAr6MEALw_wcB#existing-customers

surely the existing customers must mean me in spite of the past tnc

You really went into this without understanding how the entire promo works.

The interest you gotten at end Jan 25 is only the base interest. The BI will only be given at end Apr.
Already told you that you are in the Jan 25 promo which spans from Jan to Mar. Whatever that is now shown is Feb 25 promo which you are not eligible for it. Even if it says 10% interest is also non of your bizness.

Next time, better read the tncs and fully understand what you are getting into before making the plunge.

And yes, if you really not happy with it, just withdraw all now and find some other place to park if it offers better in your opinion.

When you open your acct on Jan 25. You are locked into the Jan - Mar promo which BI will be paid on the very last day of Apr.

And the current term for Feb promo which they had remove the BI doesn’t apply to you.

There is no interest switch. The current table you see is for Feb 2025 onwards, for those not on promo. If you joined the promo in Jan 2025 and meet the criteria, you have bonus interest until March 2025.

Tolong eh don’t anyhow whack.

The person is already out to stir confusion, don't have to entertain, and cause even more confusion for everyone else
