add payee need the hardware token ma? Thanks.
1. If first time, the CIMB mobile app need to Activate the digital token. This step if not do later you go desktop browser add payee it will show you a picture of hardware token then you cannot proceed. From CIMB mobile app activate digital token, think need wait 12 or 24 hours else when Add Payee still show a picture of hardware token
2. Desktop browser Add Payee they will show you some wording (no more hardware token picture) and you follow instructions. From CIMB mobile app tap Digital Token -> Transaction Signing. Then a camera appear you use this to scan the code appear on the desktop browser screen.

CIMB change limit, add payee I need both desktop browser and mobile app open to and fro to settle. Very troublesome indeed.

Just opened my Fastsavers account. Application approved and emailed me the documents with account number. Then realised need to deposit $1k before they activate the account. Can’t even access their mobile app to check account number.

Compared to Trust account which does not need to deposit any money upon approval and creation account, this CIMB request for $1k deposit seems high and not secure.

Maybe have to go down to branch to place the deposit personally.

You mean they mail you the account number so its not secure? I remember all along they have been doing this for long by deposit to activiate the account.

Yes, the email is encrypted but dun like the fact that you need to fund it first before the account is activated.
As someone just pointed out if the account number is wrong, and money $1k has been fast over, really not able to check. Some more not sure if they will sms the activation number within 1 business day.
Why can’t they create an account for you without any deposits? $1k is also a lot of money. Will they acknowledge the transfer immediately?
Nowadays so many fake accounts created by scammers. My Trust account was created and I fast over $1 to test my transfer. Maybe I am just paranoid.

I agree with you for above. But Singlife also same need smaller amount $500 to activate account. SIF no need fund but must show face + IC for them to verify then they activate. So far Trust, RHB is quite immediate for account activation (at least on the day I apply)

1. Add payee
2. Transfer a small amount ( $1 ??) to the new CIMB account. After that call CSO to verify the amount is correct and deposited
3. Then transfer the balance of $1,000

no choice if you want to join the game plan. Or else don't setup account with them :)

I can't remember which bank account I open before has this same procedure - i have no access to internet banking but i have the account number and want to deposit funds immediately.

Ok. The new version of CIMB mobile app keyboard super troublesome to toggle numeric and alphabet. They build their own keyboard instead of using Google or phone default keyboard. This is like BOC mobile app. More secure? Dunno but sure is more troublesome.

Their custom kb is also crap on iOS, very bad finger accuracy.

For ppl with big finger agree. For me for which I am not big sized still manageable. One can feedback to their Google Play or Apple store app and see if next release they revert the keyboard to Google or phone default like previous version

using their own keyboard will add another layer of security as it prevents keyboard logging by hacking apps.

Is for security. BOC mobile app, the numbers are scrambled. Each time you log in they are at different position

Good security, just bad implementation.

What they did was likely strictly define the boundaries of the buttons to the actual button corners. You can't do that as there is a parallax effect between the eye's perceived location and the actual finger touch locations on a touch keyboard.

Yes so far BOC mobile app keyboard is the most secure all dynamic positioning every time you use. Cannot "memorize" the letter/digit position anymore.
