The CIMB T&C for the 0.5% SI Bonus interest , states that -

One of the requirements for the SI is the transaction description must have either of these :
MONTHLY FUNDS TRANSFER - CIMB
SI - CIMB

However as I am setting up the SI in the DBS > Set up Standing Instruction section ,
I am unable to find any section that allows us to type in the Transaction description

Anybody who has successfully done in via DBS website can advise further ?

🙏

Don't think it's correct. You set up future dated SI, the day the funds disappear from your account, that evening would appear on CIMB side.
Even if he is right, losing a couple of days of int on $1k won't kill me.

Don't understand your concerns with this bank. Did you read the T&Cs when setting up SI with this bank? It is stated very clearly that if your FIRST deduction falls on weekend or PH, the deduction will be next business day (Mon to Fri). And usually there are ~ 22 weekdays (Mon to Fri) to select in a month :). If you setup correctly debit and credit is on the same day.
These are the facts:

I set up SI correctly on the 9th Jan for recurring on every 12 Jan on DBS (earliest date that the system on DBS allows ).

My money was deducted on the 11 Jan (Sat) but did not reappear again on CIMB until today 15 Jan 25.

Why would you choose a weekend for the first date?

Mine on 21 Dec sat. Money deducted on 23 Dec and credited on 23 Dec. I get my $1k on 20 Dec so I choose 21 Dec.

There were some discussions in December regarding this. You may want to refer back to them.

Hope this helps:

Earmarked promo like UOB?

TnC: A “New Customer”, with reference to the main and/or joint account holder(s), is defined as individual(s) who does not have any existing single or joint CIMB Fixed Deposit, Current or Savings Account(s), or has not terminated or closed any CIMB Fixed Deposit, Current or Savings Account(s) in his/her own name or jointly with another person with the Bank within the past twelve (12) months immediately prior to the Promotion Period.

wow, wasted, opened too early! cracking my head now!
On second thought, not such a good deal cos TNC states 'Rewards is limited to the first 2,000 Qualifying Accounts during the Promotion Period, and the first 2,000 Qualifying Accounts will be determined by the Fund-in Date.' so it might be gg by now

Just called the customer service to find out. Can't check on the number of new customers applied till date. You will only know if you are the 1st 2000 new customers eligible for the additional rewards after 28 Feb 2025 (promotion period).
You are right, it could be gg now. Guess, it is just one of the gimmicky thing to draw new customers.

according to the website documents, "qualifying accounts" according to FUND IN date, not how many sign up. Some may sign up but do not fund in or sign up already and then realized they do not qualify as new customers. In addition for new accounts they have to execute the KYC video conference which may also void some applications. So i guess the CSO will not be able to give a definitive answer.

Even fund in date on 15 Jan 2025 the starting day might not be in the 1st 2000 "qualifying accounts" for the additional reward too.
