CL is objecting Simba-M1 merger stating it will hurt consumers. Good to know a player is on our side but I too wonder what is CL's real agenda and motive, being a client of M1 of which turn sour recently. Guess it foresees the deal with the new merger will be worse off as it will have lesser bargaining power since the new merger will be very laid back and not as aggressive anymore. See whether CL objection will have any influence on the approval...

Honestly, when CL and Starhub is disputing/objecting the merger, pretty much there that it will do no good to consumers in general.

Did Starhub ever verbally object the merger? I don't think it even can do it ethnically, given it was a candidate to buy M1, viewed as sour grape if it objects. So may be objecting by heart.

Starhub ownself never improved their infra, still got the cheek to say could give the new entity a “structural advantage”.

They rested to long on their laurels blame who ?
Ppl spend billions to improve the infrastructure, how much did Starhub spend ?

Actually StarHub has a point here about spectrum rights. IMDA may indeed adjust a bit of the spectrum rights issued and make this a condition for the approval of the merger.

But I still expect the merger to be approved in the end in early 2026.

BTW, StarHub does spend quite some money on the backend network, for example, as part of the 10Gbps Fibre Broadband rollout, partially sponsored by IMDA (same for other ISPs). This should benefit mobile users as well.

All in all, a good wake up call for StarHub that they need to double down on mobile side to be competitive.

The new StarHub decision to remove 24 month mobile contract plans (with one time large device subsidies) is a bold move.

Launching Eight Home Internet (12 months contract, 10Gbps) and offering bundle discount for Eight 5G mobile plans is another interesting move.

Let's see if there are other measures coming out from StarHub.

Good to have more competitions in the end, despite the merger of M1/SIMBA.

I'm currently using Circles and the quality of voice calls is so bad to the point that I am not able to understand what the other party is saying. I don't have any issues if the voice call happens over whatsapp or telegram.

Does anyone know if this is a phone issue or teleco issue? And how to fix it?

Most likely you are in the area with bad 4G network. Currently, calls are delivered over 4G network (voLTE).

If it's your home or office, connect to wifi, use vowifi to make calls. It will be better

When i got it in Sep, didnt work and all around seems no one was able to get it working.

On ios the registration request was rejected
On Android, no request was sent out, I wonder if it is due to the use of a non standard FQDN by CL.
