Just noticed that my legacy $0 plan can no longer call out and stuck @ 3G.
Reset here reset there still 3G. Put SIM card into iphone15 still 3G, cannot call out.

Edit: They already warned us via email...
didn't know SIM Card also got 3G and 4G version. zzz
I just tested and also having issue making outgoing calls and receiving incoming calls on the $0 Flexi plan. SMS and 4G data still works fine.

But I don't think it's because Circles.Life gave customers 3G SIM cards for the $0 Flexi Plan. 3G SIM card is super old and introduced in the early 2000s in mini/micro SIM size only. When the plan was introduced in 2018 all telcos were already issuing 4G SIM cards in (pre-cut) nano SIM size.

The issue is probably related to the complete phasing out of 3G by 1st Aug 2024, on M1 network. I think Circles.Life either forgot or intentionally didn't bother to do the provisioning of VoLTE for the migration, hence calls are still routed over 3G which is no longer in use and therefore calls stopped working.
Just to update back on this issue I have managed to resolve the issue with making and receiving calls. Basically I had to enable VoLTE on Xiaomi Redmi 5 by using the workaround method in the video below. I had to also restart the phone as it still did not work initially after I enabled VoLTE.

I also called Circles.Life and spoke to the customer service officer and he did mention that during the 1st week of August other customers also reported having voice call issues but it was already fixed on the 2nd week of August.

I got two lines: 1 $5 for 50GB and 1 $0 for 1GB.
I received the email that Circles is gonna force upgrade my $0 for 1GB line to $5 for 20GB plan.

I decided to port the $5 line to Eight $8 for 188GB, and terminate the $0 line.
Now Circles will get $0 from me.

If your grandpa is dead for a nearly a decade means he's probably already dead when you registered for the $0 flexi plan when it was launched back in May 2018. 💀💀💀

Are they allowed to just start charging customers?
Merchants are not supposed to charge customers without consent.

Probably allowed as long as they are able to provide certain grace period for affected customers to accept or leave.

But now the problem is, can you fight it?

TnC are left purposely open ended for such cases and unless you can find strong evident that they say this cost is "forever" or "perpetual", they can come around and update the TnC silently as they do have the rights to do so.

In the end, better to just leave and not come back. Let the business die.
Looks like they are so desperate as they have started sending adverts SMS :cautious:

I think they have worked with their legal team to carefully craft the TnC.

Unless u want to challenge them on it?
