Leng Kee area a lot of people test cars these few days.

all being cheaper COE due to slightly higher supply
chances are might see a small drop and some savings for next cycle but likely to bounce back to 100k Cat A level due to increased demand

sale can cover 50% of new car price so loan 50%.

In theory if you wait another 2-3 years it is the cyclical 10 year high supply of COE so ... of course it will drop by that time but by how much is anyone's guess. My personal guess is at best Cat A back down to 70k level.

Hopes this theory will be realized. Personally, it won't drop to those back days 30-40k range.

This cyclical concept is no longer relevant today as LTA has tweaked how they allocate the quota. Likely to consistently remain at the 90-100k range for Cat A and 100k to 120k for Cat B. Moving forward in the next few years, this will be the COE trend as well, barring a severe recession or some black swan event

LTA has taken the 5 year renewal COE ahead of their scraping date to distribute earlier. The COE quota in another 2 to 3 years should still be higher as they will also include the bulk of 10 year COE scraping but the difference will not be as big as last time.

2012-2014 had around 10k COE quota a year
2015-2017 had around 40k COE quota a year
The LTA tweak for the 5 year expiry only increased this quarters allocation by around 300/mth = 4k a year. Relatively speaking it’s a drop in the bucket.
