With 40% loan. It is already set until so tough to buy a car. Yet the demand is still so strong. This can only show that Singapore government is doing a bad job. Else why this pen up demand?

No money to pay 40% downpayment, no problem, just lease a new car, pay monthly installment and the leasing company will manage the rest, no surprise that demand for COE is still high.

The last time price drop was July 2015. That was just before the announcement for August to October's quota increase. I think for November to January, the quota will also increase. Therefore we should be expecting another drop. Maybe $5000 for all car categories.

If your car is a good condition. Everything is working well. Would you consider renew COE?

I went to show room to look at cars. New cars price at least $130k. As for old cars, they are asking for $15k minimum Base on depreciation.

The condition of the car is worst than my 9.5year old car.

I am seriously considering renewing COE.

Anyone considering this also?

quota for nov-jan will b pretty flat compared to current quarter. having said that, it's still pretty good quota. if the number of willing buyers drying up jz a little bit, the premium will drop. ;)

It's either flat or more. But I believe it will be more. Transport minister did said a few months ago they will not hold back COE. A lot of cars will scrap in Aug Sept period. So I think it should increase by 10% or more. Those who are buying with 6bid COE also has very good chance of getting the car. With old cars price super high. A lot a lot of people are buying new cars. I decided not to follow. Instead I will fix my car. Touch up the interior and renew COE. Maybe drive 6 months and put it in the market to sell at $10k above my cost. Which is still 50% cheaper than market asking price.

New transport minister, new philosophy, new guidance = new policy.

Don't bank on the words of lui.

dereg for Jul is good, but there is a drop in Aug. hopefully good again for Sep. but overall may end up pretty flat. LTA will announce next week.
having said that the demand seems weaker, especially for Cat B. ;)

I already standby cash for a 10 year COE. Gonna drive old car. Prepare another lum sum change all the wear and tear. But the workshop after checking my car. He say nothing to change. Just change engine oil, gearbox oil. Maybe lower arm change. Brake pad change. The rest only change when worn off.

My car is due in January 2016. I will drive till Jan and see what is on offer in the market.
