dereg for Jul is good, but there is a drop in Aug. hopefully good again for Sep. but overall may end up pretty flat. LTA will announce next week.
having said that the demand seems weaker, especially for Cat B.

I went to old car showroom. The dealer says some buy cat A old cars. Fully paid and use it for uber. So the demand for cat A is stronger. But Cat B is different case.

IF n a big IF transport minister don't hold back the deregistered COEs.
And many so called borderline car owners who bought cheap cars in 2005-2007 may not be able to afford a new car in 2016. With the lousy economy, many rich might also delay their car purchase.

So it will work to the advantage of those with cold hard cash.
To buy a cheap $5,000 COE very soon!!

SINGAPORE: Certificate of Entitlement (COE) premiums for Category B cars, goods vehicles and buses, as well as vehicles in the Open category, closed lower in the latest bidding exercise on Wednesday (Oct 7).

For Category B cars, or those above 1600cc, premiums closed at S$58,190, down from S$60,001. COEs for commercial vehicles, which include goods vehicles and buses, dropped to S$44,890 from S$45,289 in the previous bidding exercise.

Open category COEs, which can be used for any vehicle type but end up being used mainly for large cars, also slipped to S$58,801 from S$61,300 in the previous exercise.

Premiums for cars in Category A edged up to S$56,001, from S$55,399.

Motorcycle premiums closed higher at S$6,201, up from S$6,158 in the last exercise.

i wouldnt see it as bad news.
compared to Jan 2015 (not that long ago), the current quota for cars (A/B/E) has already doubled!!
the quota for the next 3 mths is jz more or less... flat.
there is potential for 20% more (renewal considered) quota next yr.
