if to analyze the statics from the matrix, there is an increase of bidders for the period of Aug18 to Oct18 for CatA category.
with additional of 151 CatA COE (estimated per bid) for Nov18 to Jan19, how will it goes? down further? OR roller coaster ride?

If you have read extensive enough you will probably realised the carbon builds up on DI engines if you (1) dont clock enough mileage - merely driving your car to your nearby coffeeshop daily, (2) don’t occasionally rev your engine to the red line - not everyday but you can do it once every few weeks.

Afterall, its a give and take kind of situation where DI engine (skyactiv) yields better fuel economy but with the possibility of carbon build up if you didnt do either of two aforemention points to ensure the engine operates at the optimal (higher) temperature.

Honestly speaking i havent heard much about skyactiv engine running into major issue in singapore. So whats the real concern?

long term concerns which won't bother those who buy sell within 5 years type. it won't yield better fuel economy once the carbon loads up.

the main issues with high carbon build up are poor fuel economy and performance. ignition coils and injectors will need to replace due to misfires. spend money do walnut blast or carbon clean. so i can't seem to see the give and take here.

those on DI or skyactiv, see a video...sorry video cannot embed

do you mean all direct injection engines are bad?
multi ports injection engines are good?

yes, bad in the long run. multi port is better but its a complicated set up. so may involve long term expenses. straight old port injection is best.

if don't rev to clear carbon, just use something like this?
nowadays workshops have machines to clear carbon also..
not really a big deal right... just fuel consumption start to go up, maybe slightly sluggish etc

nope. it won't get anywhere near the injectors

But so many Mazda 3 grab drivers driving for 3-4 years.. should have more than 300k mileage. Got issue meh...

It's an exorable decline to 10k. It will hit 10k by q1 2019.

Those who bought at 60k I wanna laugh at you so badly.

Why?
I thought they can just scrap and join the fun?
Those 60k coe are around 2014 car, right? I thought they suppose to clear their 5yrs loan in 2019.So technically their 5yrs old car scrap will be easily coe balance 30k,10k scrap car value and maybe 2k for car body. So total around 42k cash standby for down payment since loan already clear? This is what my colleagues told me, is it true?Alot of my colleagues already start discussing.lol....

Same here, my colleague start calling dealer how much is his car worth now. Brought an accent 3 years ago with 46k Coe.

Just renewed my in July 18 at 18.5k for 5 years. If reach 20k I will scrap and join in the fun.

Is your colleagues loan clear?
If not,I think not worth. Cause dealer will take in paper+body only. And if he still own bank, after full settlement, not much cash left for down-payment.
Some of my colleagues their 5yrs loan clear in 2019.So even dealer offer just paper, their car is fully paid.So they no need to come out any cold hard cash since their car worth 42k just good for their down payment and carry on a new loan again.
They are laughing. Say the low coe comes at the right time. Lol...
We are waiting and they are prepared to enjoy second new car. Lol...

Scrap and join the fun? No penalty for loan? The earlier depreciation is too high
