What for go through the extra work? Their frames and legs are pre-designed to be easily fixed onto their same series table tops. Might as well just buy the whole thing and save all the unnecessary hassle. Also the galant series comes with 10 year warranty so just claim warranty if there are any issues lor.

The selling point of the galant is the frame. And the wooden top is merely screwed on to the frame. Nothing special about the wooden top at all.

Galant top have black-brown. Check http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_SG/pdf/buying_guides/2013/GALANT_desks_bg_.pdf for the customization options. But then again, please check the respective stores for actual availability. Sometimes the items might be out of stock already.

Checked Ikea online. Only have white left to clear. That's why I asking if can combine with other tops without too much trouble.

Coz berkant is meant to replace galant. Once galant finishes, it goes EOL like those series that IKEA retired. The T-legs seem stronger than the A-legs if assembled well.

If you room got space, just get a long dinning table. some of them in Ikea is quite nice. minimal and solid wood
