To be fair, the driver was certainly wrong in this incident.

As a driver going through zebra crossing, you are expected to travel at a speed that allows you to stop in time before the white lines. I think some drivers forgot about this.

Granted the cyclist was going faster than a normal pedestrian, the onus is on the drivers to keep a lookout for anyone crossing the zebra crossing.
This cyclist is also faster than other cyclist or even drivers

As much as I dislike spandex cyclist, the onus is on the drivers to keep a look out for them. Especially at zebra crossing. Any offence committed at zebra crossing is very serious.

At zebra crossings near busy junction like this, 1 should travel at around 10-15km/h just in case someone dash out.

At this zebra crossing, there are people at the island. The car should have gone slower.

So did the driver look out and stopped in time?
Or was the cyclist being ran over?
I would say the driver is very alert leh

He was alert but he didn't stopped in time. He crossed the white lines according to the cyclist. The cyclist also said he honked and scolded him vulgarities. That's why the cyclist TL.

But then, it's a mistake one will commit. I ever made this mistake too. Just wave and apologise. Most will just ride away after some cursing.

did the cyclist slow down and stop? where did the cyclist stop at, on the road or the island? the spot where the bicycle is lying on, can tell everyone what is that white stripe on the road?
so did the cyclist slow down enough to stop before crossing? if no, the cyclist clearly broke the rules, need to make sure he can't cycle again
Yes the cyclist did slowed down, but the driver just drove on without the intention to stop only at the very last min.

Both at fault.

Driver nvr slow down enuff, rider is speeding, broke the law by not stopping n checking b4 crossing. Then road rage, obstruction of road. Send him to jail priest!

cyclist really think they big fug ... zebra crossing no need slow down just chiong ...
Erm car also no need to slow down and check ? Very often I see the car don’t even bother to stop when they see pedestrians coming. Most of them need to go back and retake TP test

Actually slow down and look doesn’t really matter if the cyclist is reckless. Cos you could have slowed down, check clear, move off and the cyclist came out of nowhere and rammed your side. You still kenna. Especially if he gets injured.

Chances are if there is evidence nothing will happen to the driver but chances are, a car has camera to the front and to the back but not to the side so exonerating evidence will be from other car cameras which is kind of banging on luck

He slow down already your eyes can't see? Cyclist thought that the car will stop at a distance, but who knows the driver continued. Lucky the cyclist slow down, if not the driver would have come very close to him

cam car stop on time and did not bang cyclist, can also talk and claim until it is cyclist slowed down, when it is the cam car that stopped before zebra crossing and cyclist is on the tarmac, the usual mind blowing "defense" style of spandex :s22:
by the way, how come you avoided sharing what is in front of the cam car and what the bicycle is lying on? :s13:

The word is dash out. I have had a few close encounters too.

Pedestrian crossing. My car stopped, checked left, checked right, move and then a cockroach dashed out from the left. Knnn...
