Car drivers laugh and clap, until they realise that it's fellow car drivers who are rich enough to buy titanium or carbon fibre bike frame, road tyres, bike helmet, full spandex suit...

The real cyclists are those riding laopok steel frames, no need helmet, wear normal clothes, pedaling leisurely, once get off bike and lock it, walk into the crowd and blend in instantly.

This one more applicable in amgmoland bah?
Car = 20k
Bike = 5k

In sg
Car = 200k
Bike = 5k

That's why in western countries got more mutual understanding between drivers and cyclists

The common high end bikes are 15k to 20k. Extreme high end ones are of coz more than 20k. Nowadays 5k are considered slightly below average.

Why would I do that? The cyclist could be someone's son, husband, or loved ones. They could be a close friends of ours. No reason to wish bad things happen to them.
Actually bad things should happen to them. Confronted 1 shared bicycle user for nearly banging into me at the void deck when he is speeding. Told him cannot ride at void deck he say don’t know. Tell him go see all the signs he say don’t have. When I threatened to report him, he apologised. Another passer by shouted at him to park properly as he is parking indiscriminately. I threaten to report him again he shouted i say sorry already. Say sorry so big. After he left I report him to the authorities. Don’t know which clever scholar allow shared bicycles . An even more talented scholar allow shared bicycles to end their ride at void deck to compete with residents for bicycle rack.

Logic reversed le.
In SG a car is so expensive, so those who can easily afford 5k bike with full set of spandex, sunglasses, safety equipment will be a car driver. 5k is nothing to an SG car driver.

Those who can't afford SG car usually need to think thrice about getting expensive bike for Tour De Singapore experience. Those using bike for delivery work will also just get an e-bike, much cheaper and doesn't give full body workout. "Dutch" bikes (urban bikes) are even cheaper. Bikes from Giant are the cheapest.

Cool Story Bro.
Shared bikes have their own locking mechanisms, they don't need to use void deck racks.

Wait till a bicycle can produce carbon monoxide first then talk about road tax
Not only that.
Brake dust, nitrogen oxides, ozone.
Engine noise, tyre noise, exhaust noise, horn noise.
Asphalt damage from high pressure of non-stop rolling tyres.

smoke in house also nth wrong, but people get upset
It's not smoke in house if the smoke is being directly exhaled out of the house windows or doors.

I would recommend the road planners do some simulation of how cyclists affect peak hour traffic using their simulation programs. We paid a lot for digital improvements right?

Scenario:

Last time 2 lanes but have wide buffer. So peak hour, cyclist cycle at side but cars can travel past cyclist without problems. 2 lanes are normal.

Now -> 2 lanes covert to narrower 3 lanes. Peak hour, one lane blocked by cyclist. Impossible to overtake without causing potential accident. Motorist bypass with violation of 1.5m minimum distance. (Road planners pls advise how to bypass cyclist without violating your rule? )

Lane 1 slows to 15km/hr behind bicycle. All motorists in lane 1 tries to filter into lane 2 and cause slow down in lane 2 also. Angry motorists now in lane 1 and lane 2. Meanwhile, cyclist still cycling at 15 km/h at lane 1.
Only lane 3 traffic is normal.

Lets be honest here

98% of cyclist on the road are not joining tour de france etc

So a 5k bike is more than enough. Any national cyclist can beat 98% with a 1k bike hor

But sinkies think buy 15k 20k bike they become Pogacar, buy porsche 911 they become Lewis Hamilton

There are clowns that go park in the rack. This remove 1 rack for residents to use. Then they anyhow park block the walk way. Don’t know which low iq scholar put the QR code to end ride at void deck. They should end their ride near rubbish chutes and not void deck since one will walk near rubbish chutes.

Hard to say bah

In amgmoland a car is like a fridge/washing machine/aircon.. Just another equipment/tool

In sg, a car is damn expensive and treated as a status symbol

But many ppl in sg cannot afford nice car. But can afford nice bike. So the bike is their status symbol. Which is why so many sinkie even when skill and fitness is amateur level spend above 10k for bike..correct? Compensating
