Hou is just a puppet, he do nothing, and his movement is planned by Zhu, Ma and recently pulled HKY for the 立委 #1

i would say he (or his team) under estimate the massive amount resources require for a presidential campaign. he may predict at the beginning that he needs to form alliance with either KMT or Terry, but never expect such a big push back that no one wants to give up the number one position.

So he is now kena stuck in a junction no more direction. Going solo is sure a losing game for him.

Hou can be a good administrator to in charge of any ministry, but to be a president is a different story.

What you need as a president is not being administrator, you reaslly need to have the charisma to be a leader to rally the people around you. This is what Hou lacking.

In fact the more realistic expectation for him is to use this current campaign to build his supporter base and get ready for the NEXT election and not this one. I honestly doubt a new party can win the President election during their first contest.

If you are William, what you need to worry about ?

In fact if now I'm Lai, the biggest worry I will have is that more pro blue supporters and Terry Guo 5-10% will run to Ke.
1. It's very clearly from the recent alliance saga, KMT has been trying to bully and eat Ke. Han' supporters and pro blue who still respect Ma will feel disgusted and disappointed with how Zhu is handling the whole thing, they also still dun like Hou from the way he treated Han last time and think Han is not a president material at all. We can clearly see that most online political commentators were Han' s supporters who have now turned to Ke.
2. Terry's 5-10% supporters from mixture of neutral supporters and blue/green minority will go to Ke if Terry gives up
3. More neutral voters will feel that Ke kena bullied by KMT and non stop attack by green will give sympathy votes to Ke
