I still cannot understand how one bad train can take out half the EW line. If one light trip in our home we can isolate that portion in the ELCB. This can't work in our train system?

I'm not a train expert but I just cannot understand how this happened.

The earlier pictures showed that one wheel has jumped off the track liao.....So power supply aside, it is a mechanical issue now....

Train experts can comment?

First the the train needs to be towed off or crane out?

Next comes the testing of the track between those stations, assuming this can only be done when service ends.
Chu can personally email foreign and local expert for advice ? foreign expert. Jpns..hk..mlys..India etc.

Mr Lim Tien Hock, chief executive officer of SBS Transit’s so early 5.30am is on the ground to make sure that things are moving smoothly.”

Demand for buses

At Buona Vista, the demand for buses saw the formation of long queues stretching nearly 100m. Those at the end of the line appeared clueless as to where to go. Crowds gathered around SMRT staff who were giving directions. Police officers were also present, with some helping to also give directions.

Mr Lim Tien Hock, chief executive officer of SBS Transit’s (SBST) bus business, was also seen at Buona Vista station directing buses and commuters.

He told ST: “For SBST, we are supporting the bus bridging (services) for the disruption of the EWL, in support of the Land Transport Authority and SMRT.

“Because our buses are also deployed here to provide the bus bridging from Buona Vista to Jurong East, I thought I would also like to be here (as my guys are also on the ground) to make sure that things are moving smoothly.”

Mr Lim said he arrived at around 5.30am, before the first train’s departure at 6.16am, to make sure things were in place and that SBST’s buses arrived on time and queues were well-managed.

Yes. But I hope this doesn’t become a way for management to save money

No need to reimburse taxi drivers or even maintain trains better cos anything can just depend on kindness of taxi drivers. If no one volunteer, then when people complain about the breakdown, gaslight that it was worse because sinkie taxi drivers or sinkie in general are money minded.

Yea I have distrust for management
SQ please stand up and contribute something now.. covid 19 time literally living off taxpayers money..

If anybody is still wondering, Powertrip is the official reason given by smrt to prevent people from panicking or something but real reason is a first generation C151 train derailing outside ulu pandan depot (between clementi and jurong east), causing a power trip there and a train at clementi to start vaping and the tracks outside the depot to be damaged with the train still stuck there.
need how long to resolved sia

He is there for the photoshoot or the entire day? A big difference.

At least he is there to understand the ground situation. The same thing might happen to the lines managed by SBST. He can plan ahead in case of emergency. Breakdown is one type of emergency, can be other type of emergency also.
