It feels like 2015 all over again … we seem to be riding on an opposition wave, PAP seems to be on defensive now …

In 2015 Sylvia started talking about “I see blue skies~” … and then … Stinkies got the government they deserved.

Can’t shake the feeling of deja vu.

No one else feeling it? Just me?

I think it won't be like 2015 and even if there is a vote swing back to PAP, it won't be so strong. I saw a lot of young people—both men and women—at the WP rallies and based on the reception they got at Waterway Point, it is clear that the younger demographic is quite open to voting for WP. But the boomers are incorrigible and all opposition parties appear to be having some difficulty persuading them.

WP lost Punggol East in 2015 because Lee Li Lian served as MP for merely 2 years. They also underperformed in Aljunied GRC despite their efforts on the ground as the 4 years between GE2011 and GE2015 were not enough to establish a strong bond with residents. Coupled with the sympathy wave upon LKY's death, national media reminding sinkies of the old PAP and the blowing up of the AHTC issue by PAP, it was enough for them to win over most boomers and first-time voters.

This time, WP had a full 5 year term in Sengkang and I don't see any shift of young voters to PAP on tiktok or instagram. That's why PAP is having trouble in Punggol GRC and doesn't seem to have made inroads in Sengkang GRC.

But is this enough for WP to win either Punggol GRC or Tampines GRC? I'm not so sure.

Looking forward to higher COL in next 5 years
since PAP said GST hike doesn't contribute to increase COL, higher rent doesn't lead to food price increases, more PHV doesn't lead to higher COE price... all these inflation or high COL is solely due to external /global factors.

Pray that majority of middle class who vote for the incumbent on 3rd May to suffer from higher taxes, have to give up their vehicle when COE expired, squeeze in buses and MRT, less dining out and fall from middle class to aspiring middle class
Still remembered VB proudly declared that no 10 Million population, not even 6.9 million last GE.

https://www.channelnewsasia.com/sin...ion-604-million-non-resident-increase-4627281

As of Sep 2024, is already 6.04 million

Anyone also feels that if nothing changes, within 20 years population will reach 6.9 million?

I am wondering le. PAP is busy attacking WP.. No attacks in West PSP nth??
I think PAP is super confident in winning in WCJW, which I think might be fatal. They only have 1 anchor minister, which is much a debate online for high resale and BTO prices.

Media are not picking up PSP stories yet. We shall see. PSP don't play the same thing as WP or SDP.

Allocation of tax payers' money to various constituencies is based on friendship with Finance minister? What a joke! This is gutter politics...
