Is this in T&C. Didn't see it inside. Just met AO today to open the accounts. Maxigain is ok.

Salary credit cannot be to Maxigain for the giro bonus part. You can just set another account. Giro telco may be easier.

This is for Citi priority (70k aum requirement). Maxigain is excluded for that.

Maxigain is okay for Citigold sign-ups. :)

I went Ocbc and I am told they don't take any existing aum into consideration although I have around $200k. Quite yaya attitude and want fresh funds. In that case, is it better to bring my $200k to standard chartered then back again? Ocbc giving a mere $400 for $200k fresh funds. What a joke.

Only advantage is ocbc has nicer lounge as compared to other banks

can also consider HSBC EGA (welcome rewards + roadshow gift + referral + bonus interest) ... but shld wait to see if T&Cs are clearer in Aug re holding period

SC Priority 150K KF miles is attractive, but must be new to bank ... E-Saver + tarts + bonus extension/rewards etc quite good ... got $100 surprise credit when sign up VI card

Are both HSBC and Standard Chattered very picky about the AUM? It must be $200k or they do it for $150k. Want to leave some money in my ocbc account else have to close then open again.

if u enrol for their promos, then 200k must be held for the relevant holding period, usually 3-4 months

... thereafter they let u keep status ... HSBC will impose fall below fee but SCB so far does not

Went to SC website for closer look of the TnC. There's 3 tiers for this.

Basically placing fresh funds 200k - 299k only give you 30k KF miles. 300k and above gives 100k. That's alot of difference in terms of KF miles to funds placement.

Don't think it's worth the hassle for 30k KF miles for 200k - 299k placement.

think the sweet spot would be 300k for 100k KF miles

old bird clients would know how best to merry go round but too bad not eligible for this offer ;)

Hi there,

Let us look into the premier eligibility for you.

Could you drop us a private message with your bank registered mobile number?

We will arrange for the relevant team to give you a call.

Yeah agree. Perhaps the tiering is as such, so as to deter those who just want to take the KF miles and put in the min. 200k.

Actually compare to others, got this promotion like better than nothing??

this 100 K KF miles promo need to bring in 300K new fund into SC, can this 300K be for opening the 3 month Time Deposit earning 2% pa interest and after 3 months need to continue maintain this 300K in SC or can close account?

“Eligible Deposits” refers to current/cheque account(s) and/or savings account(s) with the Bank and does NOT include time deposits."

SC & Citi tend to have such exclusions for their promos ...

OCBC/UOB/DBS has their special savings account which is decent if you credit salary, which ranges around 2%-2.5%p.a, but amount is capped at 70-100k.

Stanchart/HSBC has decent of around 2%p.a interest rate but you need to move money around very often as it's always a 2 months promo.

Citi has their MaxiGain which allows up to around 2.5% p.a interest earned on amount up to 150k, but this involves a counter system and to achieve the full 2.5%p.a (actually is 1.2% + 70% sibor), it will take a year for the full interest to kick in till perpetuity.

Every bank has their own special accounts, it really depends on factors such as how often you need to touch the money, how much money you have etc etc.

I personally like MaxiGain the most because of the decent amount cap ($150k) and it doesn't really come with a lot of conditions such as salary crediting, giro, having to increase your monthly balance etc etc.

Hope this answers your question.
Have some funds on hand and am considering between SC or Citi priority banking. What do you recommend and do you have any referral?
