yah if you read the tnc must deposit within 30 days of account opening and keep till end of following month. so in theory its best to fund on last day of june, then keep till end july so your opportunity cost is only $30+

i will just withdraw all and keep zero.

issue is will citi approve the application by then lol
can i check where u saw the 30 days funding thing? the TNC i read from singsaver is funded upon account opening

isint it risky to leave $0?

the gift only comes in nov iirc, if the account is closed prematurely they may not give u the ipad?

even if leave at zero they wont close the account, and if i rem correctly min balance is no longer 15k to avoid fall below, i think its raised to 70k or smtg now..not sure

its in the singsaver tnc for the ipad promo, in theory its never possible to fund right upon account opening..because we wont know when it will be opened..so need to give some time..or you can google the line below

Customers to receive an iPad with a minimum of S$80000 in Asset Under Management within 30 days of account booking.*T&Cs apply

i found it, refer to the acknowledgment when you submit the rewards form

"note that if you did not apply for the above product via SingSaver's website, you will not be eligible for the reward. To qualify for your reward, please fund your account with minimum of S$80,000 in Asset Under Management within 30 days of account booking.

New Account Holders can also get up to $6,826 cash with a minimum of S$250,000 in Asset Under Management within 90 days of account booking."

Hi, I’m considering citigold, I had citi bank account more than 1 year before. Am I still eligible to get the rewards. It’s also quite confusing how much rewards I can get though. Can get iPad at the same time?

there’s currently an iPad Air promotion going on for Citigold with singsaver. However it’s only for new to bank clients. If I’m holding on to several citi credit cards, will I still be considered new to bank? Thanks in advance!

HSBC Premier

Asset requirements: 100K USD total assets under management (current/savings/brokerage account), different limits in different countries.
Fall below fee charged: Yes, $50/mo
Downgrade if AUM not met: Yes, to different tiers

Pros:
- Global transfers between accounts on different countries. Access to HSBC ATM is many countries w/o ATM withdrawal fees.
- Airport lounge access in various airports (HKG, IST and some others)
- US account holders: Global World Mastercard coming with 40K bonus points which can be transferred either to AsiaMiles or KF, no annual fee for the card for primary and supp card holders. No foreign transaction fees. During certain period (March to September) card earns double miles for any eligible transaction.
- US account holders will get local World Premier MC in other countries too.

Cons:
- While Global Transfers are available, rate is not only unattractive, but quite unfavorable for account holder. One would be better to use wire transfer between accounts. To use the best rate min $50K USD funds are required to be allocated.
- Completely incompetent clerks and CSOs both in Singapore and US - you have to do your own due diligence all the time.
- Airport lounges are worse than most airline lounges. If one has elite status (Star Alliance Gold for example) you would be better to go in lounges offering better service and amenities.
Fully agreed with the cons portion for HSBC. Their CSO/call center is really bad. Same goes to SC bank.

You can qualify for Citigold new-to-bank even if you hold credit cards, as long as you're not a primary holder of a savings account in the past 13 months or more, or if you have zero balance in your primary saving accounts in the past 13 months or more. Holding a Citi credit card actually rewards you with $300 more under the New-to-Bank promotion.
Thanks bro appreciate your help! That means should get the iPad Air promo for singsaver too right?

The post you replied to is from 2013?! I was wondering why some of the perks don't match up.

Anyway, the HSBC's CSOs I've encountered so far sound local/Malaysian and tend to be very proactive in calling back, but their backend system is ancient because things take forever to process.

OCBC one is even better.

Not for my case. Just used them in March and April time frame. Quite disappointed.

Hi guys, anyone have recommendations for good deals from bank for large deposits? Looks like just missed the Citigold promo, but the revised (lousier) one appears quite decent also compared to the other banks.

just take turns to hoot new to bank offers available :

citigold - SingSaver ipad offer is probably the highest value so far
ocbc premier / private - fast crediting of rewards
hsbc premier - promo Bonus interest cycle only 2mths, but holding period is 3mths. can include kids for extra $100-300 reward + 1N hotel

Yep if you apply thru singsaver and deposit $250k you can qualify for both the new to bank promo and the singsaver ipad.
This is wrong actually, I just called Citibank, they said that if you go with the Singsaver promo, the Citibank "new-to-bank" promo does not apply. Have to choose one only. Sad.

Thanks, but right now ipad offer needs $250k, and cannot get the bank's separate promotion at the same time. So the Singsaver promo seems to be quite sucky now heh.

OCBC and HSBC ones just seem to be a couple of hundred bucks for very large deposits required.

hi - sorry just to check, so if i deposit 250k with singsaver for citigold, i will only get ipad? cannot stack any of the bank promo? or can stack 300 for opening via online and 300 for credit card? i see the 300 for new bank account cannot be stacked as per previous comment

separately, singsaver just need 250k for 3 months and then after can be 15k without penalty, for the stacking (if possible) from citigold, it seems to need the money there for 1 year? I can't really find the info, can someone shed some light on this?
