They will search for beneficiaries before it becomes unclaimed monies.

everyday got hundreds of people dying. what makes you think they will do that for all those without nomination?

Isn’t it prudent to make a nomination to prevent all the hassle?

Anyways, for CPF monies that are still left unclaimed 7 years after the member’s death, these monies will be transferred into the general moneys of the Fund.

Here’s the list of deceased with unclaimed CPF funds:
https://www.mlaw.gov.sg/content/dam/minlaw/pto/assets/documents/Uncl Monies MAR 2017.pdf

If you think that you may have some funds from a nok held by ANY government agency, you can do a search here:
https://www.unclaimedmonies.gov.sg/Home/About

so.... go to where?

Fundamentally you don't. CPF nominations are private information. Nominees are not notified when they're added, subtracted, or otherwise altered. Your loved ones can choose to disclose that information to you if they wish, but it's solely their decision. And they have no obligation to notify you if/when they make changes to their CPF nominations.

In addition, even if you are the next of kin, family members of the decease and ask CPF are you a beneficiary. CPF will not disclose whether you are the beneficiary or who are the beneficiaries to you.
CPF will only send notification letters to the beneficiaries.

Reason is very simple. CPF (Especially CPF front desk officers) do not want to be involve in any dispute or sour arguments. (Eg. Beneficiary is mistress instead of wife, out of 3 children, only 1 child is the beneficiary, etc).

How does it involve cpf nomination?
What is his motive?
Just a speculation, and maybe watch too much tv, something more sinister when it comes to inheritance and desperate state… shall leave it unspoken.

If can receive, it a bonus.
Only what u earn is really urs.
Yes. Even if it’s your spouse, don’t count on him or her to make you the beneficiary. Just keep what is yours safely. If you get it’s a bonus. If you don’t, you may have ? but at least you’re prepared.

A friend husband passed away.
Beneficiary was his mum.
