CPU Cooler to recommend

Congrats! I told you guys changing out a cooler won't do much. The problem is the TIM with most of the Intel CPUs. Enjoy!

Considering that temps for delid stock > temps for delid oc, shows the bios' default stock settings are tad excessive

anyone using direct die method?

i am using the snowman cooler on the die and temperature shoots up to 100 C when on load (using intel extreme utility). idle was end or 30C .

could it be the thermal paste? im using some china ones. just got a mx 4 . but would it help much? contacts seems to be ok. jus that the surface area is smaller as compared to IHS

but using back the IHS seems to be much more stable.

Snowman cooler is using Direct Contact Heatpipes causing only 1 or 2 heatpipes in contact with the processor die. Without IHS only can work well on those with solid copper base.

You can try using intel stock cooler with solid copper base and it might performance better on load than snowman.

the problem is when i use the delid guard. intel stock cooler cannot reach contact.
