The interest is still earning compound interest, best to leave it there if you don't need it. Nowhere else will you earn 2% interest per annum. (well, maybe singlife but you should max that out before using dash)

I kind of use SingLife for transactional purposes and leave Dash Easy earn as it is, mainly because SingLife is much more easier to withdraw cash just in time as per need.

Regarding the below clause, if worst case Etiqa really takes 6 months to process the payment, will the funds that are still in Dash Easyearn continue to earn the prevailing interest during the 6 months waiting time?

"In the event of an unexpected surge in withdrawals (partial or full) across Dash EasyEarn policyholders within a short period of time, Etiqa Insurance may take up to a period of 6 months from the date of your withdrawal application to process the payment."

Compensation under PPF Scheme

This Dash easyearn is said to be covered under policyowner protection scheme. When I look at the compensation section in SDIC website. It says the following:
https://www.sdic.org.sg/calc/pop_calc

"Compensation
In the event a life insurer which is a PPF Scheme member fails and

a. you have a claim under a life insured policy which happened before the PPF Scheme member failed;
b. you have given notice to the life insurer that you want to surrender a life insured policy before the failure; or
c. if your policies have matured before the insurer fails; or
d. you have been receiving annuity payments,

you are entitled to be paid compensation for the guaranteed benefits payable under your life insured policy. This is subject to certain caps."

How does one interpret the above? If say I didn't make a claim or give notice before the insurer's failure, cannot get back money ah?

Wasn't aware of this clause when I signed up.. After 1 year the interest will drop to 1%? Then we probably see mass withdrawal request..

probably they will create a new one with a lower rate, so this can prevent mass withdrawal which GE do right now with 1.05%

Quote for awareness. I had similar thoughts. There is a big difference between "policyowner protection scheme" and "deposit insurance scheme" by SDIC. I had the same concern as you. which is why i haven't placed my funds with singtel dash. And fund my Singlife account instead.

This Etiqa insurance policy under writer is by Maybank~ biggest bank in Malaysia, used to control by Khoo Teck Puat and his partners in early days.

Not trying to say one is better than another, but you know singlife is also under PPF and not deposit insurance right?

I think I read wrongly. So both are only covered under PPF. So the coverage criteria is really like for show nia. Can only get back your money if u try withdraw before company go bust

Hi guys

May I check with you all.

I login online with etiqa and I saw my dash easyearn policy details.

It is stated that
Policy owner name:Telecom Equipment Pte Ltd
Owner/trustee/assignee: Telecom Equipment Pte Ltd

Is this right? Shouldn't it be my name instead?

You are the life assured. As this is a group policy, policy owner is Singtel who is the owner of Dash.
